Comments about Polar RS300X SD Heart Rate Monitor with Foot Pod:
Ok, so I'm not exactly a "Competitive Athlete", but I do run in various events and have a very active lifestyle. I use this watch almost every time I run, and on the few times I haven't had it, I felt like a big part of my run was missing.
I use it for quick info on my current pace, the distance traveled so far, my per-mile times, length of time on the run, and my heart rate zone. For all of these things, the watch works perfect. It does calculate my calories burned, but I really don't pay much attention to that.
This is actually the second one of these types of running computers that I have owned, the first being a RS200... which I LEFT in a hotel room somewhere, and the current RS300X.
I have run well over 500 miles with them combined and haven't had any issues except batteries going dead which surprisingly hasn't happened but a few times.
As far as accuracy... after switching the foot pod to different pairs of shoes, and back again, I have found that when checking the foot pod on a 400m track, I continually come up to the 1600 distance within a couple paces of 1 mile.
The foot pod isn't a big deal at all and is easy to take on or off of different shoes. I don't notice the weight of the pod... or feel it on my foot.
I chose this watch because I live in Oregon where there are a lot of tree lined roads/trails/mountains that seem to interfere with the GPS signal way too much for me. I have been on many runs with friends that have GPS units that are asking me the pace/distance info because their unit stopped working, while my watch never faltered.
I have been very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to know these types of quick stats while running.

Comments about Polar RS300X SD Heart Rate Monitor with Foot Pod:
So far I've been using this daily for a little over a month and I love it! I've read other reviews about the calorie tracker being inaccurate and after having my rates tracked by other methods I find the RS300X to be the most accurate.
I also read that some people had trouble with the footpod being inaccurate and what I did to calibrate it was track the averages over a week of different speeds and then averaged them to adjust the calibration factor. Now it is dead on for all of my runs.
I also purchased the flowlink to upload my data to the website and have had no problems what so ever. You just need to download the WebSync software from the polarpersonaltrainer website prior to connecting the flowlink, and also make sure that you have no metal contact with the flowlink. It has worked for me every time and that is with a Mac, even though I read so many reviews that said it wouldn't work.
The only negative I had was the price. But you get what you pay for and I'm very happy with my purchase. Overall, great product!!
