    I needed a water bottle to fit in the standard mesh side pocket of a backpack so that I could scoop river water and purify in a short amount of time. The larger model (27oz) was too big.

    Plus, since this is 1/2 Liter (532 mL) capacity, water purification calcs are quick and easy.

    Also, Stripen funnel/prefilter accessory fits the large mouth perfectly.
