Comments about Lowe Alpine Fall Line 35 Winter Pack - '09 Overstock:
I'm not a regular ski-er, but bought this pack as a do-it-all solution for day-walking, skiing, mountain biking, work/office and family days out. So far does it all. It's very comfortable with a perfectly shaped back, and is easy to adjust.
The handy loops for axes and climbing gear are just as useful for carrying the kids sticks, toy boats, excess clothes, kites, buckets and spades etc, as they are for their more serious intended purpose. The two lower ice-axe loops push inside out of the way for when they are not in use, which cleans up the outside considerably.
The single internal alloy back stiffener is easy to remove which I do for mountain biking, this allows a more flexible curved back for cycling, yet with enough stiffness to still retain the comfort.
The waist belt pocket is brilliant for phone, camera, snacks, or a getting into work tag, accessible with one hand.
The compression straps/ski carriers keep it all tight, and are great for stowing excess clothing. The straps even mean the zips can be left open on occasions when access is regular, without risking damaging the zips, or having everything falling out.
The internal pockets are just about right, and perfect for cycle pump, spare tubes, locks, keys, or toiletries at the shower block.
My work laptop even fits into it just fine, and because of the heavy duty foam, it doesn't make an uncomfortable lump even when taking it off-road on the mountain bike.
