Not compatible with older Giro Helmets

This is appears to be a good product, however the section on compatibility in the description is a bit misleading. The new audio drops are designed to slide into a velcro enclosure in the ear covers. In all new Giro helmets this is not a problem. However, older helmets do not have the velcro openings in the ear covers so these headphones are not compatible. I have a Giro G9 which I purchased from REI in January 2009 and the helmet was manufactured in July 2008. (You can check this by looking at the tag on the inside of the helmet.)
I did call the Giro customer service hot line to find out what other options are available. If you can still find them, the previous versions of the audio drops came integrated into a replacement ear cover and they work with the older helmets. (It was unclear whether you could purchase new ear flaps for older model helmets.) Otherwise, you are out of luck unless you want to purchase a new helmet.
As for sound quality I have no feedback since I was unable to hook them up to my helmet to use them.
