Comments about Essential Gear Spotlight Rechargeable Flashlight:
This little light packs a big punch of brightness and last for 3 hours. For the cars with only accessory ports, the available super socket adapter will work in all vehicles, and allow you to charge 2 lights at once.

A great little light. I have a similar light that I like a little better only because the charge light on this one is too bright when I am driving at night. I would like the charge light to turn off when complete or just be dimmer. Water resistance makes up for this in my opinion.

super bright light, lasts for way longer than expected. Good value and I like the anodized colors and looks of the light. Much more technical and durable than I was expecting, I carry it in my pocket everyday now!

(f34nor)If you twist slightly from off and place in socket the bright red light will not come on. I assume it is not charging but have not tested this. Yes this defeats the purpose unless it is fully charged. I just purchased one yesterday and am quite pleased. And yes the red light is bright too. Would be better if you could choose between red or white LED for normal use.

i bought this as a gift and wanted to check it out first. it is small and looks well made but it did not fit in my power ports and cig lighters in both of my cars . the adaptor was useless. this product needs a type of spring detent, or clip, which is found on almost every 12 volt accessory plug made. otherwise it would be a super emergency light. i would say that i cant reccomend it, unless you cat check it out befor buying.

Comments about Essential Gear Spotlight Rechargeable Flashlight:
First of all, I did not purchase this from REI but I did buy the same product. At first I thought it was totally awesome.... then I got it home and tried to put it in my trucks cigarette lighter socket and the OD was too small (it was too skinny to stay in the socket). It would charge if I held it in place but as if I tried to drive with it in there it would fall out immediately. I gave it to my mom and it was also too small for hers, but her socket was at an upward angle so gravity held it in. She had it for a while until the twist on/off end cap broke off. I looked at the internals and the construction (at least the part that held the end cap on) was shoddy at best. I bought a similar light from a big box hardware store that was slightly different and it fits my socket great and was a quarter of the price. I'm sure it's made in China and wouldn't hold up to any real abuse but it works better for me due to the size. It's worth mentioning though, that reviews for this other light have similar comments about it not fitting into sockets so I guess these sockets vary in inside diameters so it might be a roll of the dice as to whether or not it will fit. That shouldn't be a problem though with REI's awesome return policy. It also has a charging indicator light that can be a little annoying. Overall, if it fits, I think its a great idea but the contruction could be a little beefier. If you buy it, go easy on the end cap. If it doesn't fit, try all your accessory sockets, the lighter socket might be a different size than the accessory sockets (cell phone chargers and the like usually have those spring hoobajoobs on the side making tight tolerances on those sockets not necessary). I don't think I would recomend it due to the easily broken end cap. Fix that and I would recomend it all day.

I love this little light. I received this as a Christmas gift and keep it in my pocket all the time, pocket knife in one pocket, this little light in the other. It has even survived an accidental trip in the washing machine. I loved the camping trip I was one back in the spring and this light was brighter than my buddy's huge light that had 4 D batteries powering it!

Comments about Essential Gear Spotlight Rechargeable Flashlight:
nice & compact but pretty dim compared to other LED lights out there. enough light for close up work/reading but that's about it. not a good trail light or spotlight. recharging from the car is a nice feature though and basically why bought this.
