After much deliberation I purchased two of these. I found it to be a compact, relatively light, and very comfortable replacement for full sized camp chairs. My girlfriend and I camp frequently at a local spot which is about a 1.5 mile hike in and found these chairs to be just compact enough that we are willing to carry them!Lastly I sat in many stools before purchasing these, the reason is the back! It is much higher and slightly angled and catches your shoulders just right, the seat is also a little larger too.

I purchased one of these stools over the winter, and used it for its first camping trip this past weekend. It was the belle of the ball! Everyone who went loved it, and it was always in use (even when regular camping chairs were in available). One of my co-campers is disabled, and finds the regular camping chairs too deep and low to get in and out of comfortably. The higher seat height and back made it comfortable for him as well.
I will say, though, that after 3 days of camping and sitting in the stool for large portions of each day, that my inner thighs got a little sore. I'm sure that will improve, though, as I get used to sitting in it over the course of the season.
I am getting more now.
