I have had this watch for at least six years (2 of them). I love it for everyday wear. Its great for travel and crossing time zones. The only complaint I have as I prepare to purchase it a third time(even though my current one works fine)is that the velcro strap, as comfortable as it is does not hold up as long or well as the timepiece. I hate to throw away a perfectly good watch because the velcro no longer works. If they could make the strap changeable so I could replace it every couple of years this would be one of the best products ever.

This will be the last Timex watch I buy, time to spend some money on something that will actually live up to it's expectations. This is now the 4th Timex watch I've bought that isn't water resistant AT ALL. Had this one for a month, went surfing one day and now the screen is blank and full of water.

I've had this watch a few months and am pleased with its simplicity and comfort. It's not too masculine or too gaudy. I constantly use the START/SPLIT button to check the time in another country where my boyfriend's traveling. I wear this watch several days a week: whenever I'm out hiking, on the bike, or lately, swimming. Over the last few days, I started catching whiffs of smelly feet, but my own feet/sandals didn't seem to be the culprit. Finally I realized it was the watch strap that reeked. Had I taken it off and allowed it to dry thoroughly after swimming, this funk might not be the case now, but the whole appeal of the watch for me was to wear it for any outdoor activity without thinking about it. Not sure how I'm going to get this smell out. I'd suggest that Timex work in some sort of antimicrobial component.

This watch has a plain, classic look and wears very comfortably.

I've owned two. The first was ruined with Acetone that dissolved the gray facing and compromised the rubber seal so be careful around any aggressive solution (including nail polish remover, I suppose).

The main drawback of the watch is the fragility of the small components made of hard plastic. These can easily be fractured / dried-out and fall off. The second watch I had took a beating for a year or so before submitting to water during a canoe trip that infiltrated through one of these small components on the facing. It seems it won't dry and work again. I still may get another since I have spare straps...

Bottom line, if you treat it right, this is a great watch for the money. I fully agree with the pros of the other reviewers, especially about the alarm.

I've had this for over a year. The velcro strap makes it really comfortable and super easy to put on and take off. The backlight/snooze button is really easy to find and push in the dark and in a sleepy stupor. The alarm is effective but not obnoxious. I've scratched the face of it a LOT, and you can see the scratches if you tilt it to catch the light, but in no way do the scratches interfere with seeing the display. The only negative is that if the velcro gets really dusty or muddy, it doesn't stick and the strap can undo itself. However, this has only happened a few times, including a summer of working on hiking trails and a lot of farm/garden work. So not a big issue. Also, a friend of mine who owned this watch lost it when he jumped into a river. So just keep in mind that velcro, though very comfortable and generally convenient, isn't the most secure strap option. But overall, a great watch. Timex is definitely a good value.

As a Divemaster, its important to have a watch that will work and won't flood on you while you're diving. This watch is rated to 100 meters (333 feet) which is well outside of the recreational dive limits. I've been down to 130 with this watch multiple times and never had a problem with it. Even use it in the pool while working with students.

Cool and fun watch! I love the INDIGLO lighting option and use it more often than I expected. The three alarm settings and a beeping that is loud enough to shake me from deep sleep has been really useful. The fact that I got it on sale at REI made it such a great deal.

I got this watch half a year ago and if I look closely, I see some small scratches on the face, but it's not a big deal. My main gripe is with the velcro strap. The strap itself is comfortable to wear, but the velcro is causing all my long sleeved shirts/sweaters to fray at the cuffs. I like the watch too much not to wear it though, so I'm looking into getting new straps for it.
