Comments about Atlas 1227 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:
these are not very good in deep snow, i find myself sinking to my hips. once i break a trail. then its fine. but its sure hard to walk in these snow shoes when i'm sinking 3 feet into the snow.
perhaps, i'm just not using them right?
i did have to buy smaller snow boots as my arctic boots were to large for the toe area and even with smaller boots. the strap is not long enough to reach the side clip. regardless, they still stay on nice and secured.

Comments about Atlas 1227 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:
I bought these as I'm new to the sport and they came highly recommended by the staff in Westminster. However, I kept flicking snow where my bum would be covered. As they don't make a butt gaiter... I decided to exchange them and got the MSR Ascent and am enjoying those MUCH better!
The flicking of the snow has to do with the bindings (per what I've heard from REI)- is its independent then less flicking; if it's attached (like these) mmore flicking.

Merchant response: Floatation on snow is a function of weight, snow density and available surface area. To determine the appropriate snowshoe size, the Atlas sizing chart references your weight (with gear) and the typical snow or trail conditions you encounter (dense wet snow, light powder or packed trails). Snowshoers can expect some compaction when breaking trail in deep fresh snow and in some very light wind-blown conditions low snow density may greatly reduce floatation, however this is not a design flaw but rather a function of snowshoe surface area, body weight, and snow density.
