    These boots were new when I started a 4 day trip around Crater Lk OR. They were a huge step up from the touring boots I had. They were warm and comfortable. However, it was hard to get the laces tight enough to keep my heal seated, but the movement didn't cause blisters. There's a velcro at the back of the heal, which is, unfortunately, useless. I could not make it tighter. Eventually they just opened up, became snow encrusted, and dangled. The other problem with the design is that there are side seems that dip toward the toe. This happens to be an area of the boot that the ski edge often hits. At day three I noticed the lower outer seem was cut, the stitching cut. One side worse than the other. No doubt, being a more careful skier would have helped, and once I noticed the damage, I adjusted my skiing somewhat and I don't think I caused more damage. But this is a vulnerable area and if you're like me, you want to use these boots for many, many seasons. This kind of abrasion is unavoidable. Fischer's BXC 8 solved this issue by having the out seem higher on the boot and not having stitching that can be cut by the skies edge. That said, my feet were much warmer than my partners and these were the nicest boots I've ever worn.

      I spent a long time shopping around for a boot thats good quality, comfortable, and is stiff enough to be going downhill in, carrying a forty pound pack, and yet enough flex to enjoy some xc skiing at the local groomed trails. Yup these are the boots that i chose, and i'm extremely happy with so far. The quality and durability of these boots seems much better than other brands that i tried.

        I purchased these after a bad experience with the Alpina boots (1550 & 1650). The Alpina boots both pinched my foot down close to the toes as many reviews had stated.
        These Fischer boots are just plain quality to look at and it is reflected in the fit and workmanship. I can tell these will last many years of solid skiing. They are very supportive, warm, and easy to put on and cinch up. They cost a little more than other boots out there but are well worth it. If they fit your foot, you can't go wrong if this is the style of boot you require. Cheers :-)

        Monsters.

        I previously skied on Alpina's 1550 touring boot. These are heavier & provide more support. Also, warmer for snow camping. I can (sort of) alpine ski on groomers in these boots where the 1550s were too light. The trade off is in the weight & stiffness of this boot for long tours.
