Comments about V.I.O. POV. 1.5 Camera:
I decided to splurge with my recent REI dividend refund, which covered most of the cost of this. I enjoy being active outdoors and enjoy photography. Over the winter my girlfriend and I went zip-lining up at Bretton Woods in NH and I would have loved to have had this at the time. The unit is easy to use, it's very rugged, and the quality of the videos are quite decent. It also provides a number of mounting systems for the camera itself. There is one big drawback, however, and I consider it pretty significant. There is nothing provided for mounting the recorder itself. The recorder is about 6.5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, and curved on the back so it fits well in your hand. But how often do you intend to go mountain biking, zip-lining, rappelling, etc. with only one hand? At the very least I would have expected it to have loops that you could put straps through or a place to tie a lanyard, but it doesn't even have those. A form fitting belt pack would have been really nice. If you get one of these you will also need to figure out how you want to carry it and buy something to do that. A pocket of a backpack would work if you're biking or hiking, and a small fanny pack might work if you're doing things like mountain climbing or rappelling. But not even having a place to tie a lanyard for safety seems to be a major oversight as far as I'm concerned. If it wasn't for this glaring oversight I'd have given this 4 stars easily.

Comments about V.I.O. POV. 1.5 Camera:
I had been wanting to purchase a helmet camera for quite awhile. I was able to purchase the top of the line helmet cam with my [$] So far I have used this for whitewater kayaking and it gives great videos, especially if you dump. In regards to the two previous posts, there is a pouch specifically for this camera and is easy to find on internet. The pouch I purchased straps nicely to my PFD when kayaking. Do some research on a product before you knock it. I hope to see REI carry more accessories for this camera in the future. The only negative I have is that the camera does not have a zoom feature.

Comments about V.I.O. POV. 1.5 Camera:
I agree with the other review, but I bought an Eagle Creek fanny pack at REI for around $20. It fits it well and I can carry some of the other accessories I may need. It takes great video. I took mine skiing today and have not yet looked at all the video. I did notice it did wash out in the bright light. It was sunny and now clouds so the lighting was harsh for any camera. I can't wait for summer when I go mt biking! I am still weary of taking it out surfing though. Has anyone done this yet?
