Comments about Osprey Kode 38 Snow Pack:
upgraded from the 30 and I think the 38 is much more realistic for backcountry day trips. The helmet pouch on top makes for much easier access to the bag than the 30, with no need to remove the helmet. Haven't spent much time packing skis with it but it seems to be very solid. lots of compartments to organize gear. seems incredibly solid construction.

Comments about Osprey Kode 38 Snow Pack:
Yo, I ordered this pack from REI[...], filled it with shredding essentials, strapped it on my hunched back and proceeded to bootpack up into the storm to sample the gnar. The pack fit quite nicely which is something I'm not used to with most companies' winter pack sizing of "one size fits some". I ordered the 'Large'size and it fits my 6'3" frame. (21.5" torso for those of you who care.) Seems well thought out. Holds my wide snowboard better than any pack I've used. Separate wet/dry gear compartment is sweet, as is the insulated hydration hose port in the shoulder strap. Being of large stature, you might've guessed that I've been blessed with a huge noggin. You'd be right. My enormous helmet barely fit in the helmet pocket on top, and the padded goggle pocket comes in handy. Holds poles, shovel, avy gear, etc., etc. I don't see any need to limit this pack to winter use and I look forward to many cold and warm adventures toting this thing around the Big Sky Country.
