Designed to ensure superior strength in wind and snow, the Mountain Hardwear Trango 4 tent uses extremely durable, yet super-lightweight, fabrics and materials.

  • Atlas Scandium XL™ poles are very light, super strong and completely field-serviceable without tools
  • Additionally, these tough XL poles come with subzero Shok™ cord and heat-treated aluminum threaded pole tips
  • 2 full-size D-shaped doors let you choose between mesh for ventilation or ripstop nylon for 4-season use and privacy
  • Full-length vestibule pole creates a large front vestibule area and adds strength; clear UVX film window is rip-proof and allows views outside
  • Rear vestibule offers extra storage space for gear and an extra entry; zipper allows access to rainfly for roll-up ventilation
  • Dry-entry vestibule design prevents water from dripping inside tent when vestibule is open, improving livability
  • Generous vent in upper canopy has mesh panel for airflow and ripstop nylon panel for 4-season use; rainfly has clear UVX film window over vent
  • Expedition nylon taffeta rainfly features a polyurethane coating on the inside and a silicone coating on the outside for added rip- and UV-resistance
  • Expedition bathtub-style nylon floor features a non-hydrolyzing polyether urethane coating, making it one of the strongest floors available
  • Interior perimeter mesh pockets extend along entire sidewall to keep small essentials off of the floor
  • Accepts 2 Gear Lofts (sold separately) for more off-the-floor storage
  • Cantenary-cut seams create a taut canopy and rainfly for improved strength
  • Silicone-dipped, water-resistant, inverted rainfly zippers have protective stormflaps; bias-bound zippers slide easily and extend zipper life
  • Non-wicking grommet tabs have adjustable buckles; silicone-dipped, nylon guyout loops ensure durability and prevent moisture from wicking to tent
  • Stake-out loops are large enough to accept skis and snow pickets
  • Comes with stuff sacks, tent stakes and owner's manual
  • Pitch Light Option: For an ultralight shelter, pitch the rainfly, poles and footprint (sold separately) without the tent body
  • Average minimum weight specification is based on tent, rainfly and poles only

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Trango 4 Tent - '08 Closeout:

Took it to the top of Mt. Mitchell, altitude of 6600 some feet. We got there just as the sun was going down, and it was raining. I was in a real rush to get the tent up. This was the first time, and it was so much easier than other tents I've used in the past, and thats with the rain and very little light, plus, I put it together myself while the wife took care of the dogs needs.
It rained and stormed horribly that night. Winds were anywhere from 15-30 mph and felt nothing while in the tent. It was very secure and did keep rain out, and the rain was extremely intense.
I had myself, my wife, 2 full grown german shepherds and a full grown golden retriever in the tent that night, plus my ruck and other gear, but still had room, I'd say for another adult.
The only problem with the tent was it did collect condensation.
I really enjoyed the optional skylight in the ceiling and the little window at the door. This is by far the coolest tent I've seen or been in, a very good purchase. I pat myself on the back.
I also took the tent down and packed it away by myself. It really wasnt too hard, however, when folding and stuffing away, I couldve used an extra hand, but, it wasnt available and still was able to manage.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Trango 4 Tent - '08 Closeout:

I used this tent all of last summer on my trip to northern Nunavut and it held up to all of my expectations!!! Even when the hurricane winds hit us, we still were comfortable and dry with it!
This is one of the best tents you ciuld get if your going on any adventures, it holds up to wind and rain, if you keep it facing the wind.
