    The drawstring isn't the best closure option - a buckle that could easily be tightened would be better. A zippered, bigger front pocket would also be nice. Other than that these pants are awesome - essentially waterproof and very durable. I wear them anytime the weather isn't sunny and warm.

      I commute year round in rainy North Vancouver,BC and log over 5,000km/year on my bike. I spent over a year looking for pants that were a combination of waterproofness, breathability and a tapered cycling fit.
      These pants met all these criteria and have been the single best cycling investment I have made in the last year, besides my new bike.
      Highly recommended!

      On a previous review I did not like them but when I replaced my poor rain coat tha pants worked great and now I like them and have used them in cold hard rain a number of time and even here on Maui at 10,000' it gets cold and good for decending in cold too.

      The main problem with these pants are:
      1. They are too floppy so there is a lot of friction and wind resistance.
      2. The velcro does not work well after a few rides.
      3. Water gets in after about 2-3 hours of riding.
      4. There is only one pocket in the back.

      I don't know what the alternatives are, but I would think there is something better out there.

        I commute daily and this pant is always with me. It packs down to the size of an envelope so I don't notice it I dont' need it.
        It's gotten me through some crazy rainy days. My kids think it's magic when I take them off and show them my dry clothes underneath. Great pant, love my Gore-Tex!
