I bought this sweater to be worn over a couple of layers when its chilly outside. It fits fantastically over lighter layers and does a superb job keeping you warm, especially those handy thumb-loops (which, by the way, are big enough to use even if you have a medium-weight pair of gloves on). It also fits nicely under another jacket with no worries about a hood getting in the way. I walked the dog in this sweater frequently in 35-40 degree F temperatures with just a few lighter layers underneath, gloves and a hat. It was perfect! Even when I warmed up from walking, I wasn't too hot, and the sizable pockets were large enough to hold my gloves if I chose to take them off. It also seems to hold up well to washing. The only con I have is I wish the mock collar was a bit tighter to keep out the wind, but overall, worth every penny. It has quickly become one of my favorites.

I tried this sweater on in the REI store in black but ordered the green online. I was not disappointed- the color is beautiful. I am 5'4 128 pounds and the small is comfortable on me. It is loose but not frumpy. This sweater is warm but not bulky. I plan to layer it underneath my rain coat for the Pacific Northwest Winters.

Good value. Very warm. This is second one I have purchased. The first one got a little close to the camp fire sparks. Love this sweater. I wear it all the time. I purchased the CHARCOAL color. I have also used as layer under a shell during skiing. Thumb holds are nice for layering.

This is a wonderfully designed sweater...made for a woman's body. A very flattering fit! It's lightweight and very warm. Love the thumb holes and the color (I ordered charcoal).
Haven't washed it yet, but imagine that it will launder well. I will likely buy this sweater in another color!

I bought this jacket during the sale and it's become one of my favorite things to wear. I'm going through my first Wisconsin winter and it's been a great mid-layer. It keeps me really toasty and is ridiculously soft. The thumbholes on the sleeves are really helpful as well.

I stumbled into this sweater at an REI store and as soon as I put it on I knew I needed it. The material is very soft and feels very warm with a light layer under it. The thumb loops are a perfect size, not too small, and really help to trap in warmth. This sweater is perfect under a waterproof shell, or on it's own for warmer, dry weather. It's humid and 40 out currently, and I felt very comfortable hiking. I don't want to take it off!

I've had this sweater for over two years. I wear it all the time, and more as a jacket than sweater. On its own, it keeps me warm at 40-50 degrees, perfect for chilly evenings outside with family/friends. With a lighter fleece layer or sweater underneath, it holds up in at least the 30s. I recently was hiking in Yosemite after 6 inches of snowfall. Temperatures were between 31-35, and with just a couple layers I was perfectly warm. HIGHLY recommend this sweater! In fact I went back and bought a second for color variation and as a back-up on mutli-day trips. The thumb holes, which will accommodate a pair of mid-weight gloves, are fantastic to have.
