  • Synthetic leather uppers with Cordura® nylon and breathable polyester mesh panels deliver plenty of support and protection for long hauls with heavy loads
  • Padded ankle collars and padded, gusseted tongues protect feet while keeping out trail debris and upping the comfort factor
  • Reinforced silicone instep arms and heel counters wrap around heels and insteps for solid stability on the move
  • Gore-Tex seam-sealed inner booties offer breathability while retaining complete waterproof protection
  • Nylon mesh linings wick away excess moisture and dry quickly for comfort; AEGIS Microbe Shield® antimicrobial treatment helps keep odors at bay
  • Removable Ortholite® anatomic footbeds add cushioning to polyurethane midsoles with Air Cushion heel pockets
  • Nylon plates offer torsional stability and protection underfoot, increasing surefootedness on varied terrain and reducing rock bruising

      I purchased these boot to replace a very well used pair of Zamberlans. For the price they have been terrific so far! My feet have stayed dry and comfortable, with little break-in needed. I miss the lace isolation or the ability to lace the lower half looser of tighter than the uppers that I had with the Zamberlans, but overall I've have been happy. I haven't put an extrodrinary number of miles on these Merrells yet, but so far they seem to wearing fairly well. I'm excited for spring (already) so we can put some more serious miles on them!

      Service and delivery comments:

      I used the free delivery option at the flagship store. This is always a great option, except that I can never seem to get in and out of the store without getting that "one other little thing" while I'm there. Kudos to the marketing genius(es) there I guess!! I'm hooked anyway!! :)

      I had to return the first pair because there were spots where the sole was not attached to the upper. It appeared that not enough rubber was poured into the mold. The second pair I got still had the same type of flaw, but it was small enough to not matter to me.

      They are really comfortable and have great support. I'm breaking them in with plans to use them on the Wonderland Trail this coming summer.
