This is a great piece of luggage. Bought 1 each for my GF and I for a 3 week trip to Italy. Materials used are heavy duty and I expect it to last a long time. This thing swallowed up everything we brought with us and we were still able to fit a couple bottles of wine and olive oil in each one on the way home! I was expecting to use the backpack carrying option through the cobblestone streets so I packed it up and carried it around the house for a bit and while it is not as comfortable as my backpacking pack it is comfortable for what it is meant to do. I am happy to say though- the oversized wheels are the best thing about this piece of luggage. It rolled over cobblestones, up steps and through puddles so easily I didn't even need the backpack part. While a little big for airline carry-on it was perfect for train travel throughout Italy. It was more than I was looking to spend on luggage but it was money well spent, I expect to use this on many trips to come.

I've used this pack for a few international trips. The hideaway backpack is very well designed-- better stability and more comfortable than some of my older backpacking packs. (I'm a medium height, small framed dude) Most of the other combo luggage/backpacks I considered were mostly luggage oriented, and had terrible backpack frames. The frame is curved give an air pocket preventing sweaty back; Unfortunately this cuts into the interior space of the bag. I'd happily wear this pack for a multi-day backpacking trip. It was stable on my back on a motor scooter. I wish the bag were a bit bigger-- it's a bit tight for a multi-format trip including camping gear and the usual tourist stuff. I often strap a daypack behind the stuff-straps and it stays put even when checked in. Unfortunately, the pack tips over easily, especially when loaded-- would give 5 stars if it weren't for this.
