After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. It's been 30 years since I rode a bicycle, but wanted to get more active so decided to give it a try. I bought the Jaunt about a month ago and have ridden it almost everyday since. [...] I like the comfortable ride the suspension provides, the unisex design with the lower top rail (which has prevented more than one painful injury to my (guys you know where I mean!). All, in all I'm very satisfied - and hoping the extra exercise will keep me away from a return to the cardiac wing of my local hospital.

Comments about Novara Jaunt Bike - 2011:

Haven't ridden in a long time. This is my first bike with gears (a necessity in CO) which was the main factor in getting comfortable with the bike (gotta feel tension on the pedals!) and I started out with the seat lowered (feet on the ground like the old days, right?) I changed out the handlebars for a more comfortable cruiser reach. I gained some confidence, finally raised the saddle and waited for a day I really wanted to ride and eveything fell into place nicely. I like this bike. Nice color, too.
