The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
I have to laugh at all the bad reviews on here because I am totally addicted to these things. I was a big Gu gel fan but I have to admit I only ever liked the vanilla and chocolate flavors.
I pretty much like all the gels blocks out there but the Chomps really are the best (in my opinion :) Again, I choose my flavors carefully, the highest recommendations are for the cranberry, strawberry, watermelon and peach. The flavors are super yummy, a little sour and a little sweet. I especially like that they are light, easy to carry and share. I always bring extra on my hikes for folks who are running out steam and could use a little boost. "The first one is free" I also like to eat a serving before my gym workout..a little caffeine is great for getting the most out of my workout.

Watch out these can become very addicting. I have only purchased the Straw or watermelon flavor. Its very easy to finish off the package easily. They pack well, I use these mainly for when I am out playing paintball on long days. I take 3 "rocks" before I start the day (9am) and then finish the rest of the bag by 2pm. These do provide a slight boost / pick-me-up. These can get a little sticky if left in a warm spot.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
I went on my first trek ever to Half Dome last year at Yosemite. I had only gotten about an hour of rest the night before, if that. I was extremely lethargic starting out on the hike, and just before I reached the halfway point to the Dome (Nevada Fall), I felt like I was dying and thought I'd have to turn back. However, I remembered I had a package of GU drops in my pack (Strawberry w/caffeine). I ate the entire pack as I chugged along and a few minutes later, I felt a sudden burst of energy. Because of that, I was able to go on and complete the entire hike.
The only two flavors I have tried are strawberry and orange. I love the strawberry ones because I love strawberries. They also have caffeine, which helps a lot when you're lethargic. The orange ones are caffeine-free and they are just okay. Like oranges, they are a bit tart. The strawberry ones are like a party in your mouth. Lol!
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about these GU drops except that REI should sell them for less. They are kind of pricey. The best time to get them is when they are on sale. Buy them in bulk.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
I like the strawberry flavor as an alternative to gels. I usually carry both and alternate them based on my mood at the time. It takes awhile to eat a serving (4 pieces), but in a long event, it actually kills a little time and isn't as sticky or messy as the gels.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
I have used the GU Chomps (Blueberry flavor) a number of times before and during mountain biking runs. They actually taste very good and provide me with a nice energy boost. The only downside is they are not as fast or easy to eat as gels. 4 pieces per serving requires me to stop my bike and eat them where as with a gel I tape em to my bike rip em and eat on the go. These would be very good for hikers or something of that nature.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
I use it before and during my runs. For short ones I have one bite before to keep me going until night dinner when running after work. During long runs take one every 30-40 min. I would prefer chomps to gels because they won't make your fingers sticky but they do stick to my teeth so I'm not ready to replace completely my gels with chomps yet. It seems they provide energy although it's not obvious as with gu gel (especially with gu roctane). Taste is rubber like, I'm not into chewing candies in general but it's OK with me. I would certainly try it if you never tried it before.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
it was my first time to try it since I'm normally using gu gels. I saw it on sale and wanted to try it instead of gels because gel usually makes fingers sticky after you eat it. Taste of strawberry chomps was ok , I didn't feel any immediate boost but I did just 10K run that day so it might be too short to tell. The main problem for me was that chomps were sticking to my teeth (I don't like gummy candies for the same reason) but I do have a lot of crowns which makes it happen. I wish it could work for me since I'd rather have my fingers clean without sticky residue gels leave on my fingers.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
I have been experimenting with different energy gels and chews. I have a hard time with the texture of the gels and find these to be a great substitute. I prefer the chomps to shot bloks which seem larger, stickier, and have a weird salty taste. I wouldn't have these as a snack, but for what they are they are good.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
Tried GU chomps for the first time during one of my longer runs (> 10 miles). After struggling repeatedly past 10 miles, I tried a run while eating a chomp every 20 minutes and couldn't believe the difference. Went down easily and had energy to spare at the end of my run.

Comments about GU Chomps Energy Chews:
I've been using the old GU gels and the new ones for 5+ years and I have been very satisfied (I just want the big refil packs back!).
Now that I just got the chomps and tried them (at home) I feel I can describe them in one word: awful! No idea if all tastes are the same, but blueberry-pomegranate is all I bought.
Being too sour can be tolerated, but the texture, the taste, the aftertaste...
Even if they provide better power than the gels I cannot convince myself to eat them again (will stick to GU gel).
I recently tried Powerbar's GelBlasts and they are a lot better.
