The men's Patagonia Micro Puff hooded jacket is wind- and water-resistant and highly compressible. Very warm for its weight, the Micro Puff can be worn as insulation or outerwear in cold climates.

    I've had this jacket, which has not changed much over the years, for 3 years and have found it to be indispensable as a great all around technical insulating layer. Ice climbing in Canada, AT skiing in Central Oregon and various other cold weather activities I have this always in my pack. It's designed to fit over shell/helmet, so if you want it as a casual jacket (a waste of a great jacket) go a size smaller than you would normally get.
