Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's - 32" Inseam:
I have had many hiking clothes over the years but no pants have ever been this GREAT. They are tough, rain and wind resistant, and allow a full range of motion without chaffing, rubbing, or snagging. They seem to run a little trim so if you are a 32 - you may want a 34 waist.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's - 32" Inseam:
These pants have been everywhere on me. They've summited Denali twice, run 10K snowshoe races, been XC skiing on the continental divide, and are still comfy enough to wear for the ride home. One of the best purchases I've ever made.
Keep a hard shell handy and pack longjohns should the weather change, but for fast moving activities it doesn't get any better than this.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's - 32" Inseam:
Yes you will be happy with these pants. I bought them for backcountry skiing, and have used them for everything else since. I have worn them in 30-40 mph winds with blowing snow, and the wind did not come through. Ran through a bog chasing my dog who was chasing a racoon, and when I got back out they were pretty muddy. By the time I got back to the car most of the mud had brushed off, and the pants were dry. They are so comfortable I have come home several times and then just layed around the house in them. Paired them with a woven stretch belt, and I don't feel the waist or the belt. I have purchased two pair now, my wife has gotten a pair for early morning walks and x-country skiing, and three of my friends have ordered them after trying mine. I don't know how long they will last because they haven't started showing any sign of wear, and they have been trough rose bushes, current bushes, cattails, and Russian olives. They have also been through several types of burrs, and none of them have stuck to them. I wear a 34x32 blue jean, and that is the exact size that I get these in.
These make your cold weather hikes comfortable.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's - 32" Inseam:
I can't recommend these pants enough. They are comfortable, don't limit your movement, and keep the cold and wind out as advertised. I wear these in the outdoors obviously, mainly hiking and snowshoeing, but also around town on really cold/windy days.
My only (very minor) gripe is I wish there were more belt loops. But it's not like there is any problem with the fit, it just would be a little better to me personally.
I hesitated to drop the dough in the store, but they've been totally worth it.

I love these pants and wear them all the time. They are water and wind resistant, wick moisture, and are surprisingly warm. They are lightweight and seem to be really well made. I only switch to convertible pants in the summer and early fall.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's - 32" Inseam:
These pants continually impress me. Every time I take them out in windy conditions, I'm always a little apprehensive about whether they will offer me enough protection. They have never let me down. I think the specs say they are rated to protect against 16 mph winds. I have worn these pants in winds that were easily gusting 30-40 mph and they did the job. I wore these pants without any additional layering on a Pemi-Loop Traverse in October when temps were below freezing and the wind was blowing the above mentioned 30-40 mph, and I did not feel cold.
Their mobility is excellent. The pockets, while not huge are more than ample.
My only concern might be the fit. I think they run true to size, but it is a very slim, tapered cut. This is ideal for most applications, but I could see how others might want something more relaxed. Otherwise these things are near perfect.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's - 32" Inseam:
Great Pants. I purchased these pants to use on a week long Late season elk hunt in the mountains in southwest Montana. I wore the pants for a week straight. Average Temp was 10 below zero. I wore two pairs of mid-weight thermal underwear under the pants each day. Wind chill was brought the temp down to 30 below. even on the tops of the ridges and wind gusting up to 50 mph, the pants still kept me warm. these pants are wind proof. They never got wet or leaked through (altough it was too cold to really get wet. my only complaint is wight the use of velcro to close down the cuff/hem around your boots. the velcro closure becomes useless in the snow in temps below 0. Snaps would be much better. I plan to add snaps myself.

I have been using these pants for about a year and I can not find a fault with them. I use them on all my backpacking outings. I am also a geologist and I use them in the field regulary.
I am planning a 110 mile hike across Scotland this summer and these are the only pants I am taking.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's - 32" Inseam:
I have worn these pants on several snow hikes this winter. They performed great by blocking the wind and light snowfall. Paired with a light base layer they were plenty warm in 30 degree weather while hiking. My favorite aspect is that they are very fitted so there is no extra material flapping and they look good also. Truly a trail-head to coffee shop hiking pant. To sum up: they perform as advertised and feel great without screaming to the public I am a hiking pant.

Comments about REI Acme Pants - Men's - 32" Inseam:
Great all around pant. I wear these on the bike commute to work and then keep them on while guiding in the snowy Sierra back country. I climb in them, I wear them to the coffee shop, I backpack in them, and I get told once a week to take them off from my girlfriend. They fit a little long--which is good for my lanky six foot, three inch frame. They are super-euro, but hey, some of us like that. I only wish REI made a couple more colors so I could where them all time. The fleece pocket lining is absurdly comfortable and great to warm up cold climbing hands. Sturdy as hell. Great Buy!
