I don't want surrounding people (and myself) to be subjected to the ripping sound of velcro every time I enter my purse! That was my number one criteria in purse shopping. I was hoping there would be enough compartments in the zippered section that I would rarely need to enter the velco section of this purse, but that was not the case. It was nearly impossible to find a no-velcro purse, but I eventually found one: the REI Natalie shoulder bag turned out to be the best purse I could find.

Loved this bag, virtually indestructible, lots of organization, and confortable straps, but I couldn't get the everyday grubby stains out of the textured fabric. I tried oxyclean and stain sticks, nothing got it out. Great bag, but make sure to get a very dark color. Mine was army green.

I bought this bag with my dividend money in November 2010 and it has been used every single day since and only now is the velcro on the front compartment slightly unsticky :-)
I have had people in a few shops around the UK comment on it and ask where I bought it (REI of course) saying it is exactly what they are looking for. They are so upset when I mention REI is in the States.
Between my husband & I we have spent a lot of money in REI, this bag is the most used item. As I said, it has been used every single day for 2 years and I have only just stopped using it because of boredom, but it sits there on my sideboard (haven't put it away yet) calling out to me every time I leave the house. It is so practical, even when I am walking/hiking the South West Coast Path along cliffs and beaches in Cornwall. it will hold plenty of water, my SheWee, hat, gloves, rain mac, camera, phone, wallet etc.. I have had that bag stuffed with so much stuff that when I empty it at home it's like Mary Poppins and her magic never ending bag :-)
Anyway I love it, you can't go wrong with it.

This is the best bag I have ever bought. I bought mine in the Spring 2011 in green. It is such a versatile bag. It is great for hiking, shopping, and traveling. I can fit a water bottle,coffee travel mug, kindle, snacks, and a ton more stuff. I am really considering getting another bag in Poppy.

I have had this bag for a few weeks now and so far I have had no problems with it. I needed a bag to hold my water bottle and this bag certainly does not disappoint. I had to clean the flap on it and I was really surprised at how easily it washed and looked like new again. The main compartment is really roomy. I am amazed at how much "stuff" I can get in there. The back pocket is roomy as well and it's nice to quickly slip items in and out of it. I do wish the mini pocket inside of the main compartment did zip closed, but for me it hasn't been a problem. One challenge I find with the compartment under the flap is that when I have my keys on the clip, my sunglasses in the fleece pouch, and my cell phone in the pouch next to the sunglasses, I have to be careful not to scratch my sunglasses with the keys as I take out or put in my cell phone. Otherwise the items fit amazingly well inside these pockets. It's not very useful for all of my credit cards, money, etc as far as organization goes, so I had to order a matching wallet and that should be fine. It's comfortable to wear. I wear it across my body because it takes a lot of the weight off the shoulder. Necessary when it's full with water and other heavy items. It holds weight very well I might add. All in all. Great product. I plan on getting another one in another color.

I absolutely love this bag! When I first got this purse I was worried it would be too bulky because I always have a lot to carry. After trying it on with everything I wanted in it, the bag didn't look any larger than normal and was very comfortable to wear. All of my items fit in easily and it still looks good as new after months of use! Durability is one my favorite things about this purse, and it hasn't frayed or looked worn even though I carry it everyday to school. I am so glad I chose this bag and I plan on using it for a long time!

Bought this bag for China/Tibet trip. Love 2 side pockets for water, umbrella, sunglasses and camera. Wish there is a zipper for the side pocket inside the main compartment. I had wallet, glasses, reading glasses in the main compartment, so took stuff in and out all day long. Also had 2 passports inside the side spots inside the main compartment, I checked my passports 10-15 times a day to make sure they did not fall out when i fumbled thru my other stuff. Wish it had a zipper! Then it will be a perfect bag.

I bought this bag for trip to China. Loved the 2 side pockets, fit water bottle and camera. I mostly use the main compartment with zipper. Had glasses, reading glasses and sun glasses plus wallet in it. I put 2 passports in the separate side pocket inside the main compartment, but it does not have zipper. I was so worried that they fall out since I took stuff in and out of the main compartment all day long, I checked my passports 10 or 15 times a day. Wish they add a zipper to it, then I wouldnt be so nervous.

I've had my bag for 4 years now, and I love it. It's really the perfect size for many uses. I've used mine as a day to day purse, a diaper bag, a travel bag and a lunch bag. I especially love that it has two drink holders on either side of the bag. I will use those for water bottles, baby bottles/sippy cups, snacks, a small umbrella, or my camera. I have it in black. It does collect hair or fuzz on the material, but I just use a lint brush. I wear it slinged across my chest, and it feels comfortable. The strap is wide, so when I have it packed full and heavey, it's still comfortable. So far nothing has ripped or come apart. It really is a rugged and durable bag.
