      I spent an hour looking at all the available commuter/purse/travel bags that REI had. I wanted a purse that I could organize easily so I could find what I was looking for in the dark (or behind the seat in the car). And one by one I found reasons why they would not work for me - noisy velco, poor design with pockets, no room for a small water bottle, etc. This one fit all the demands that I realized I had as I was looking. I didn't even realize at the time that this bag was made for "over the head, hug the body" use. But once I realized that it did, I liked it even more. But be aware of how the straps are designed for the over the head use, because if you don't like that fit, and use it just over the shoulder, it will slide off frequently, which can be a bother. Sooo, for short distances I use it over the shoulder, and for longer walks or shopping it is over the head and up against my body - fitting perfectly.

        I USED THIS BAG FOR TRAVELING AROUND CHINA. IT WAS GREAT, I FELT MY STUFF WAS SECURE, BUT I DID NOT KNOW THAT IT WASN'T WATERPROOF - FIRST DOWNPOUR - EVERYTHING INSIDE WAS SOAKED!! I WASHED IT WHEN I CAME HOME AND IT SURVIVED, PERHAPS NOT AS COMPACT AS BEFORE, BUT I'M STILL USING IT, JUST NOT IN THE RAIN!

          Plenty of room for large wallet and other creative junk we tend to carry with us! Even a water bottle can fit! Just enough compartments. (hate when there's a million). I like the sunglasses pocket alot! I like to be hands-free and with a Black Lab in tow, it works well.
          Not crazy about snap closure, things can fall out when it tips over. I still like it though!

            I love the flap and I can fit my wallet and everything else in it. The magnets show through on light colored fabric and the straps don't feel right. It's almost like it's twisted and the adjuster piece often sits on my shoulder making it uncomfortable. I still love the purse though.

              I love this bag, i bought it full price, and i use it every day, and it still looks new, its especially good for traveling, because you can pack it up and use it as a cross body, I'm definitely buying another one now that its on sale.
