The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash / Blaze Bike Light Set:
What ever you do, DON'T look into the light... I was seeing spots for quite some time! It's a great light. I can see much more of the road than I expected. It even lights up roadsigns that are at least an 8th of a mile away. For it's price range, this is by far the brightest set I could find. The tail light is uber bright too. Don't look directly into that either! The quick release is secure and very handy. I can't stand leaving equipment on my bike when I'm away. Over all: awesome product for the price... Get one!

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash / Blaze Bike Light Set:
Went to the REI store to see if they had a Nite Ize Lite Ride to use with my Nite Ize upgraded 3 LED Mini Mag, wound up leaving with this instead. I spent probably an hour shining lights onto the store's wall, starting with the $20 lights. This one has a narrower beam than many of the other offerings (including the $20 models) but a 1W LED is hard to beat - only my other 3W LED Mini Mag can do that.
So I used this set that night at 9:30 on a city street ride returning from a friend's house - front light flashing on the more well lit streets, high beam on the less well lit streets (nice to have that option of low/hi beam) plus my 3W LED Mini Mag on a headband. The tail light has a small clip so I put that on the back of my waist via the shorts since I have a seat bag and a rack bag and wanted to get the tail light up a little higher for better visibility.
These lights use standard size AA & AAA batteries and I have rechargeable sets of these.
I figure you can probably never have too bright a set of lights if you want car drivers to know you're out there. This sure beats the 20 year old setup that I used to have!

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash / Blaze Bike Light Set:
This is the best light SET I have found for all around use, including night commuting, low-visibility conditions (fog, drizzle, twilight) and night training rides. That statement takes into consideration the price and battery usage. I've been using this set for over a year. It works great on both alkaline batteries, and NiMH rechargeable batteries - which is my preference. With NiMH, you can always have topped off batteries for full power. I do find that the headlamp beam weakens after several hours burn time, especially when run on full power, and that the taillight goes for quite some time (20+ hours), especially on flash mode. I like having multiple modes as it allows you to manage battery usage on the go. Both lights are easy to install: the front uses a quick-release clamp, and the taillight uses a single screw clamp. I would advise using the clamp over a light loop - the clip is not that secure (lost a taillight that way). It's relatively easy to transfer between bikes too. There are better individual lights out there, but as a set, you can't beat it for the price. Just don't expect it to light up the woods on a trail ride - it's not designed for that. Be careful how you direct the headlight - I've had drivers use colorful language to comment on my lights....

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash / Blaze Bike Light Set:
I ride for exercise 4-5 nights a week as fast as I can pedal. I ride both on well lit streets and dark back streets. The headlight is bright enough for the dark areas. The flashing mode is the brightest I have ever seen on any bike (both front and back lights). I like this set so much, I bought a second set for my wife. While you can buy less expensive (but not as bright or noticeable) light sets, figure how much it will cost if you get run over by a car (and survive)! [...]

The headlight is so bright in Superflash mode that pedestrians turn around to see what's causing all the signs to flash! Cars gave me more space than ever.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash / Blaze Bike Light Set:
This thing is hideously bright - both head and tail lights. I had it on the flash mode and people walking the other way on the trail were cringing because of the brightness. The front low-beam is more than adequate on pitch dark MUP's. The taillight is nice and bright. One thing I noticed about this light vs. the 1/2 watt that my better half has is that her light color-temperature is whiter - almost making her 1/2 watt light seem brighter than when mine is in the high 1 watt setting.
The only thing I dislike about this (and other Cateye front lights) is their mounting system. Sure, its super adjustable and fits almost any handlebar but the handlebar mount is a PITA to get on tight enough. No problems with the rear tailight mount. It's nice that they include seatstay or seatpost mounts, although some aluminum or carbon frames' seatstay tubes are too thick to use the seatstay option.

The tail light is the best bang for buck out there. Very bright! The headlight is a good "be seen" light though it might not work great as a "see the road" type of light.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash / Blaze Bike Light Set:
Great value for the combo price!
We have 2-sets of these lights for our commutes. The SuperFlash mode both front and rear makes me feel like I am finally visible to cars and pedestrians. Also, the high and low modes are perfectly adequate for dark path night riding. Although, most mountain bike riders tell me it is not the headlight they want for "trail" riding.
The stealth taillight looks pretty sweet on my ride.
The front light mount is a little tricky to get clamped but it hasn't come loose for few months after working with it a bit.
With regular commutes I would guess the batteries last 6 to 8 months (40 to 60 hrs, more than the 20 hrs on the website). But depends on your use and latitude.
Purchasing rechargeable batteries (front 2-AA and rear 2-AAA per set) is the only thing that has made these better.

Comments about Planet Bike Superflash / Blaze Bike Light Set:
For the price this set can't be beat. Just took a ride through rush hour traffic and I was amazed when most drivers did not veer in front of me. I think the light is so bright and annoying in flash mode that it throughs people off. Lovin it!
