This is a good hat. I chose it based on the weave, hoping it would maintain its shape and it has not let me down. I like a fitted looking beanie, more of a fashion choice. this one does a good job of holding shape for a few wears, then i throw it in the dryer to get it shrunk back down. Has held its color through several washes so far. Has a nice sweat band inside the head area which is good at soaking up sweat and keeping it snug. I wear a 71/4 to 7 3/8 baseball cap and this is a good fit. plan to get an extra one for this winter. A very nice wardrobe staple.

I forgot my other beanie on my way to Lake Tahoe, so I stopped at REI to buy one. I really liked my other one, but I haven't seemed to use it ever since I got this one. Love it!!!

I am a female active in the outdoors no matter the weather. I received this beanie -Zipfelmütze- as a Christmas present. It's fit is snug yet comfortable. (I have a smaller sized head, so I would suggest trying one on to those with larger noggins! ;) ) - Does a good job of blocking out the wind. Have not been exposed to rain yet, but was misting the other evening and it did fine. Looking forward to testing this the next two weeks with the arctic blast that is coming down. If it still performs well, this cap will be going with me to Alaska next year.

I bought this beanie a year ago. Not much use till this winter 2010/11. Fits great, i dont like the "cone puff" on the top that flaps around. Its stylish and keeps my head warm in any chilly to low teens weather. I would use this for ANYTHING that is outdoors with cold. In my point of view i dont even get hot. Its just right warmth and breathable.

I bought mine the day after a huge snowstorm. It was pouring rain and freezing cold. I threw it on, and loved it. The fleece lining around the ears keeps the hat comfortable and fitting well. The only problem I've had with the hat, is it is in fact so warm that I have to tear it off the second I walk into a building, or risk breaking into a sweat from overheating. I love it.

I love this beanie. When I lost mine last year I bought a new one, but my boyfriend loved it so much he took it and I had to order a third.

This beanie is warm, it's the one I pull out when the temperature drops below zero. I bike commute in the winter and this is the beanie I wear under my helmet when it's snowing or very cold.

I don't usually use this beanie for snowboarding because it's thick and I wear a helmet when I ride, but it would be great for skiing/boarding otherwise. If I put my long hair up under the beanie, that takes up some extra space and I have to keep tugging it down around my ears.

Service and delivery comments:

I ordered this hat online and when my beanie arrived, the four panels were not sewn together at the top and there was a little hole. North Face replaced it, no questions asked.

Fits ok, but had to remove the beanie because my head & ears got too hot and I started to perspire. When I removed it, I got cold again and then put it back on. I think I'll go exchange the beanie with something lighter/cooler.
