The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Sawyer Premium Sunblock with Insect Repellent - 3 oz:
Loved the small size and the combo sunscreen/insect repellent idea. The sunscreen may work just fine however don't expect the insect repellent to repel any insects. Just finished a quick overnight trip and regret not having any other bug spray with me. Probably my fault for depending on this product as primary insect repellent but it seemed to do absolutely nothing to the mosquitoes on the trip. Spent the entire day/night in the tent because I was getting eaten alive. Gave it 2 stars because I wasn't able to judge the sunscreen aspect of the product, however the insect repellent on its own would receive 1 star.

Comments about Sawyer Premium Sunblock with Insect Repellent - 3 oz:
We brought this to Costa Rica for general daytime use - seemed like a convenient product. The entire group we were with suffered bug bites, but neither my wife nor I were bitten once in the week we were there. The sunblock aspect worked well for hiking and sightseeing, even that close to the equator, but wasn't quite enough for the beach.

Comments about Sawyer Premium Sunblock with Insect Repellent - 3 oz:
While this combo product may be effective at blocking the sun - we were in sun/shade on a recent trip and I managed not to get burned - it is completely ineffective at keeping bugs away. It was almost hilarious to watch as it was applied - bugs would stay away while you were spraying it on but would return to bite/annoy less than a minute later. Look elsewhere.

Comments about Sawyer Premium Sunblock with Insect Repellent - 3 oz:
As a guy who shaves his head and doesn't like to get eaten alive by mosquitoes, I thought this bug spray & sunscreen combination would be a great way to keep the bugs & UV rays away, but I was wrong. Actually, I can't attest to the spray's sunscreen abilities, as I only used it once. However, once was more than enough to determine that it was no good at keeping mosquitoes and flies at bay. I was a bit surprised that the spray was so ineffective, since Sawyer's Jungle Juice is my favorite spray. Perhaps it's the lack of Deet that makes this spray a poor repellent. For those who don't like to use Deet, this might be a good alternative, but I wouldn't recommend it. It even smells similar to Deet-containing repellents that I've used, it just has a different active ingredient. I would return it, but it's not really worth the hassle of driving 40+ minutes to the nearest REI, or the effort of boxing & shipping it back. For now, I'll just stick with a spray-on sunscreen topped with a few shots of Jungle Juice.

Comments about Sawyer Premium Sunblock with Insect Repellent - 3 oz:
My husband and son used this Scout camping last year in WI. We had pre-treated clothing with Sawyer Permethrin Clothing Spray. The combination of this repellent with the clothing pre-treatment kept them from being eaten alive. Others campers had several bites and ticks, my guys only had one or two.
We decided to use same process for our Mexico vacation. We pretreated all clothing for Chichen Itza (located in a buggy jungle) and used this combo sunscreen insect repellent. We used a different sunscreen on our faces and applied this product around hairline, necks and ears and rest of exposed skin. We did get a couple of mosquito bites each BUT most others on our tour bus had received 12-20 bites a piece.
I don't believe I would trust the sunscreen for the beach. I would use a different sunscreen there. But for hiking and such it has proven to work for my family (we are fair too).
When we have used this repellent alone, I have gotten bitten thru my clothing. When we have worn clothing pretreated w Sawyer Permethrin spray and no repellent, our exposed skin gets bitten especially ankles.
Summer has finally arrived in Chicago, so I am ordering a bottle for home to be able to walk the dog. Plus ordering subsequent bottles for a UK vacation and for my sons week at Boy Scout camp.

Comments about Sawyer Premium Sunblock with Insect Repellent - 3 oz:
I have used Sawyer products for years and they are normally great. This one however is just average. Its sun block is okay for use while hiking and packing but not for prolonged exposure to intense sun and needs to be applied more frequently than most. As for the insect repellent, my wife and I use Sawyer Permethrin wash/spray on all our outdoor gear and it rocks. However we still use a repellant for our exposed skin just for the added layer of protection. With both of these products we rarely get any insect bites but when I let my brother-in-law use just the sunscreen/insect repellent combo on 15 mile trek with lots of deer flies and mosquitoes, he had to reapply every couple of hours to keep from getting eaten.
