This is a great jacket for wearing out and about and walking the dog. I live in Minnesota and it works best for 30 degree temperatures.

I wear this everyday. It is comfy and warm w/o weight. Hood is super when filling gas tank in the cold wind! Love, love it. Many compliments.

Comments about Marmot Ama Dablam Down Jacket - Women's:
Fantastic jacket, exceeded my expectations. Very warm, very lightweight, very comfortable. Perfect length--Back "U" shape covers your rear end well. Feels like you're wearing a cloud. Stylish lines, flattering for a warm coat.

Comments about Marmot Ama Dablam Down Jacket - Women's:
This jacket is not really warm. I have to use another layer such as a synthetic or down sweater under it to stay warm in temps below 50. There are cold spots across the shoulders. I am an average 5'5 woman and I weight 130 pds. The sleeves are way too short and the even though the sleeves are adjustable with a velcro tab the elastic prevents it from loosening enough to get gloves under the sleeves plus the other layers I need to stay warm. The hood is ok but on the small side. I could never wear a climbing helmet under it and it barely fits with a baseball cap under. Plus I am having problems with the zipper! On the plus side if you are looking for a lightweight coat for fairly mild weather if it fits you it will be fine. This is the only Marmot product I have ever been unsatisfied with and I own one other Marmot Down Jacket that has 650 down fill that is much warmer and I was hoping that I could upgrade to this coat for colder weather.

Comments about Marmot Ama Dablam Down Jacket - Women's:
This jacket is light-weight and very easy to pack and travel with. It is so cozy and warm, and it is very comfortable. My husband and I just returned from New Zealand, and I wore the jacket the whole time! It is very versatile! I wore it to campus (University of Auckland), out for evenings, for walks around Auckland, and also for hiking in the Waitakere Ranges, Piha and Kare Kare. I love this jacket!!!

Comments about Marmot Ama Dablam Down Jacket - Women's:
I received this jacket Oct. 2009, and wore it everyday, pretty much all day, indoors and out, until April 2009. As of Jan. 2010, it's hanging in there, but has been patched several times and consistently loses feathers. I have no idea how the other reviewer was able to keep her ama dablam for 4 years....Marmot's use of the down quill feather + down ensures that you will lose feathers... there is no way around it. However, I must sing this jacket's praises because I have loved this coat. Through backcountry skiing, hiking, and resort skiing, it kept me warm and dry enough. I wore it indoors constantly (I am typically a cold person) without overheating, and have successfully machine-washed the jacket twice. Laundering did not seem to accelerate feather loss.
For it's high cost, Marmot should use the down it describes on its website, so as to improve the durability of this jacket. It is a fabulous design, flawed by its fill. I have stickers and patches speckling my coat, and I'm confident it won't make it to 2011. Pity.
I recommend this jacket to others (because I love it) on the condition that you DO NOT pay full price, and recognize that it will not be the purchase of a lifetime. Biennial at best.

Comments about Marmot Ama Dablam Down Jacket - Women's:
I have had this jacket for four years and am about to buy another one. It has seen me through backcountry ski adventures, many nordic ski treks and has been a great jacket for around town. The only reason I'm getting a new one is because my current one does have a few small holes (from wear and tear and tree branches) and it has gotten a bit smelly from all the physical use. I will kept my current one for ski adventures and campfires, and use the new one for around town and less strenuous skiing at the ski resort.

Comments about Marmot Ama Dablam Down Jacket - Women's:
This product wore out really fast. The forearm area wore out really really quickly and started shedding feathers. The synch cord that goes around the waste wore through the cloth that holds it in. Returned to Marmot and they would not fix it losing feathers because it was not a warranty issue. Will never buy another Marmot piece again.
