Perfect for an epic climb to basecamp, a rigorous day of alpine touring, a fast push on snowshoes. The REI Kulshan jacket with eVent™ fabric is now equipped with a Recco® reflector.

eVent fabric has a unique membrane structure that allows sweat vapor to escape to the outside of the fabric easily
No matter how hard you work, overheating is unlikely due to this Direct Venting™ Technology
And because you remain dry on the inside, the likelihood of an uncomfortable, post-exercise chill is eliminated
eVent technology works so efficiently, no pit zippers are needed; all seams are sealed for complete waterproof protection
Recco reflector embedded in the right sleeve can help searchers find you in snow; it complements, but does not replace, the use of avalanche transceivers
Integrated, helmet-compatible hood is drawcord adjustable and offers full visibility
Features adjustable hem drawcord and snow-resistant rip-and-stick cuff tabs
2 mesh-lined front pockets are placed to clear shoulder straps and hipbelt; also features zip stash pocket on the sleeve

This jacket is lightweight, comfortable, has a very flattering fit and has room for undergarments. I usually get hot and sweaty in most rainwear and this is delightful. I absolutely love the pockets, inside(lots of storage) and out (they are placed for comfort... walking as well as with a backpack) it even has an ipod pocket and one on the sleeve. The hood is adjustable to your head, with or without helmet. The only negatives are I wasn't crazy about the colors and went with the green but it is a nice green. Also, I am short and the sleeves are long (I have this problem with most coats) I was able to cuff the bottoms easily and it looks ok, but I will not be able to use the velcro. Although pricey I love this jacket! I use it for hiking, walking and all around town. I plan to take it to Alaska in the spring. It is light and I know will pack easily. Wear it alone or with warmer underneath, you can not go wrong with this jacket and I cannot say enough good things about it.

This is the best wet weather jacket ever! I bought this jacket for a southeast asia trip I took. Being the rainy season and still super hot and humid (~80F temp, >90% humidity), I was so happy to have this jacket with me! It really does breathe so well! I was not hot inside my jacket at all. I was a little weary paying so much for such a lightweight jacket, but it really does perform like it says it does, and more! This should be the only raincoat you will ever need. It packs nice and if temps drop, just layer some clothes underneath and you'll be good to go. I love this jacket and highly recommend it!!!

This jacket seriously ROCKS! It fits well, has ample, conveniently placed pockets, a hood that can be cinched down to fit without a helmet, and sleeves long enough to allow layering and to cover glove liners. I happen to love the safety orange color. I used this jacket in Antarctica, worn over a down parka and other base layers. Winds there were up to 45 knots and temperatures below freezing--I was always protected and warm without overheating. This fabric is light, breathable, and completely waterproof/windproof. I will definitely use it for less harsh conditions and local hikes as well. There is no better shell on the market. Worth every penny.

My husband and I both have the eVent jackets. The fabric is absolutely fantastic, I have never owned a jacket that breathes as much as this one and we've worn our jackets everywhere from steamy jungles to frigid ski slopes! This product falls down on the design. The zipper is just too small and sticks every time, especially when it is wet...which seems to be the point of the jacket. The shaping of the women's jacket means that the zipper sticks just where the jacket curves in. My zipper is now bent there from having been stuck there so many times. The pockets are at a ridiculous angle and stuff just falls out, there also aren't enough of them. Why can't they be like the pockets on the men's jacket? I hear there may be a new version of this jacket in the pipeline...great, I hope the designers pick up on these faults and are able to make the next version better, it is a very expensive item to get wrong.

I agree that this is a great looking and functional waterproof jacket. I've even taken mine skiing on warm days. My only complaint is the zipper sticks. I have to fuss with it a few times before it zips up.

This jacket is off the hook! It performs great while I am riding my bike to work. Keeps me dry and the material is very breathable. I love that there are no armpit zippers to mess with. The cuffs on the sleeves are designed to taper off and cover the top of the hand, which I find very helpful when riding in the rain.
The overall design of the jacket is very functional and very stylish.

The rainy season is coming and I needed a bike jacket. I hope this was worth it for the $$$. Very lightweight, the orange is bright but not neon. Very well tailored.
The hood would be cumbersome without having a helmet on (or switching back and forth). The front pockets are unusable wearing a messenger bag (with cross-strap) but are great with my camping backpack. The side pocket would be great if it could hold my sunglasses, but it's too small.

I love this jacket. I bought the Mountain Orange color and have gotten compliments on it every time I wear it. Very flattering fit, even if you wear bulky items underneath. The sleeve is a tad bit long for my taste, for I usually wear gloves and do not need the extra protection on my hand, but that is just a personal preference. The hood fits perfectly over my bicycle helmet so it helps keep my head warm as I am cycling on rainy days. And an unexpected bonus...my new recumbent trike is the exact same color so I am stylin' as I ride!! How cool is that?!

I wore this jacket snowboarding and snowshoeing this weekend. It was warm and sunny, so I was afraid I might overheat, but it kept me very confortable. My old jacket was a Marmot Precip, and I can tell you that the REI Kulshan is far superior. The fabric feels better, it is much more breathable even without pit zips, the sleeves offer more coverage, and there are more pockets. The snow was melting off the trees while I was snowshoeing, so it was quite wet. The jacket performed flawlessly. The zipper is a bit hard to get started, since it's coated for waterproofness, but other than that, it's perfect. I also love the mountain orange color.

I have had this jacket for a month and a half now and I absolutely love it! Not only is it cute and a flattering fit, but it performs amazingly as well! I bought it for hiking and outdoor activities, but now wear it around town as well! It is lightweight and comfortable, but most of all I was really impressed with how breathable it is! I am able to hike for hours in and out of sun and shade with variable temperatures and not get overheated or too cool. It is so well ventilated that I don't get sweaty underneath. This past weekend was the first time I had an opportunity to wear it in really rainy conditions and it was great! I was dry and comfortable the whole time! The hood is adjustable in several directions so I was able to close it around my head and my bangs didn't even get wet! The visor on the hood kept the rain out of my eyes as well! Also the pockets are plentiful and in accessible areas for those who carry lots of stuff. This jacket is a great investment and I am so pleased I decided to purchase it!
