Comments about Surftech Laird 12.1 Softop Stand Up Paddleboard:
At 220lbs and 6'-5" tall, this board was super stable, fast, turned easily, and surfed small waves well. I paddled upwind on Seattle's Lake Union the entire distance with no problem and without having to kneel. Wind was light, about 8kts. Getting up to speed and catching boat wakes was easy. Once on the waves, I had total stability and was able to move up and down the board without any tippiness. So far I haven't had it on coastal waves yet. For a 12' board, it's light enough to carry distances without any issues either with the built in handle and on my shoulder. I'd definitely recommend it for the larger paddler of any skill level and/or beginner.

Comments about Surftech Laird 12.1 Softop Stand Up Paddleboard:
I tried a bunch of SUP boards at a REI event on Coronado Island. As soon as I got on the Laird 12.1, I knew it was the board I would get. It was very stable and tracked very well. It just felt much better than the other boards. So far I have paddled in San Diego bay in various conditions from flat to choppy. The board is very stable and inspires confidence, even in a beginner like me. It also tracks well. It is the perfect board for distance paddling. If you are looking for a great flat water board that also handles chop and swells, this is a good choice. I have not gotten it in the surf yet, so I cannot comment on that aspect of the board's performance.

Comments about Surftech Laird 12.1 Softop Stand Up Paddleboard:
Probably the best all around board on the market. Great for the whole family. This makes a great first board. Also makes a fun tandem surfing board with the wife and kids. I tried surfing it and found the 12ft length to be unwieldy. But that was surfing choppy Lake Michigan Waves which are always horrible. Since I mostly do flat water paddling these days, it is no big deal. There are better boards for straight up flat water speed paddling(Tahoe Rubicon is incredible) but the Laird is definitely a great switch hitter.

Bought this as a holiday present this year, and since we live in Minnesota we will have to wait until summer to use it - looking forward to it very much!
Service and delivery comments:
Couldn't have asked for better customer service! I had this item shipped to a store in Minneapolis. They loaded the board into my vehicle, and tied it down securely for my 30-minute drive home. GREAT staff at the Maple Grove, MN store!!
