Have 2 of these (his and hers). His is used almost daily in waves - pad started coming unglued after a few months - very dangerous to use in waves without full adhesion. Tried to glue back on - no luck - the actual rubber used looks like it is failing. No help from either REI or Surftec. Ended up tearing the whole pad off and just using surf wax

We're an active family with two teenage boys and own kayaks and canoes. We bought this board for it's stability, since we're new to this sport. The board comes with a fin, which you need to install. Seems simple, but there were no instructions and it turned out to be a little challenging for a novice (we did figure it out eventually). We bought a leash and one adjustable paddle so that we can adjust the length to suit everyone. We brought the board to our local lake. The boys had no trouble getting onto the board and started paddling right a way. My wife fell off once or twice, then stayed on and she loves the board for the exercise on core/legs/glutes. I fell off several times the first day, once or twice the second day, but this thing is a blast! We are now fighting over it and may have to get at least one more. We're not near an ocean, but will use it on the lakes and rivers.
