The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Gaia Hipster Hip Pack:
I enjoyed the size and versatility of this, until I used it in a kayak. It got wet when I got out of kayak at waters edge. Everything in it got wet as most of the seams came unglued. Will return this to local REI as soon as I get home.
Feel lucky I did not get it wet in deeper water, I could have lost contents of bag - wallet, etc.

Comments about Gaia Hipster Hip Pack:
I bought this to hold wallet, car keys, comb, journal, etc. while kayaking, but found the construction to be far too fragile. First the belt tore off. I sewed & glued it back on and waterproofed the stitches. Then the glued seam on the bag itself blew out and could not be repaired. I replaced it with the Sealine Seal Pack -- far better constructed for just a few dollars more.

Comments about Gaia Hipster Hip Pack:
I used the bag at two Disney Water Parks last month and each time water leaked in. I was disappointed and luckily I placed my items in ziplock bags for added insurance. This bag did not work as advertised and is best suited for rainy weather.

Comments about Gaia Hipster Hip Pack:
I found this pack lacking. I am an avid whitewater canoeist. This pack does not provide the protection I desire. In addition, the pack separated from the hip belt after a few uses. I am attempting now to see if I can fix this unit-otherwise I shall return it. Perhaps in less demanding situations the pack would work-but not for serious whitewater if you will swim rapids repeatedly.

Comments about Gaia Hipster Hip Pack:
I took this on a casual 3-hour kayaking trip through calm water and very light rapids on the Chattahoochee. That doesn't mean I didn't capsize. This pack was fully submerged for several minutes, and then dunked several other times. Everything inside stayed completely dry.
It's comfortable and has a strong buckle. The zippers feel a little awkward, and I wish I could fit a 1L water bottle in the bottle pouch (not even close - I would say it caps out at .5L), but these are minor quibbles. This hip pack does the most important thing, it keeps your stuff dry!
