    I love this jacket. I wear it almost every day for every activity. My only complaint is that where my seatbelt rests on it the pile has matted. Oh! and the girls love it. Can't keep their hands off it.

      Great Jacket. I live in Colorado and this wears well in cold weather below freezing temps by itself. Pile is so thick that it offers decent wind resistance. Pair with a shell for extreme weather. My wife has one as well, which has matted with a year of wear. Doesn't dimish performance, however.

            Purchased as a gift for fiance to wear individually or layer under Mountain Hardwear Exposure II Parka. The jacket is very warm and fuzzy. However, the sizing is slightly odd and runs small. Generally, we have no trouble with Mountain Hardwear sizing and mediums are perfect. Here, the sleeves were very long (which is usually great to accommodate someone who is taller), but the torso was relatively short. We had to go with a size up to accommodate for the shorter torso length in the medium.

            Service and delivery comments:

            Customer service was great in arranging for me to get a different size. They were very accommodating and helpful particularly since the price had changed during the course of my receiving the item and needing to exchange it. I was really impressed with the service!

              I loved the monkey man when i first saw it, makes you feel like you skinned an ape, and put on the pelt, almost like a hunter.

              After one week of wearing it, i got a hole under the armpit area, i didnt mind too much, until i got another hole under the other side.

              Something about the stitiching needs to be fixed!

              I want to start off by saying that the reason I got this jacket was to use while backpacking and hiking. I see alot of people around town wearing this jacket; people that obviously don't use it for outdoor activities like backpacking. It seems like a majority of the reviews did not address performance of the jacket under these sort of conditions.

              The jacket is very warm, if worn under a shell. However, this jacket does not have any windproof abilities, except maybe in the mildest of winds. If any wind is present, and you want to remain warm, you cannot wear this as a stand-alone. The benefit of this is that the jacket is extremely breatheable.

              I can attest to how quick drying this jacket is. A stream crossing was involved in a backpacking trip I was on, and the stream ended up having a spot which was deeper than expected. The lower 2/3rds of the jacket were submerged, yet the jacket was still dry (except around the polartec stretch cuffs) within 30 minutes.

              The pocket layout is great without a pack, but waist and chest straps will interfere with the pockets.

              I thought that this jacket might be too bulky underneath a shell, but I found that if the shell has an athletic cut it tends to compress the fur down on the jacket to that of a normal size. This compression did not seem to affect the warmth of the jacket.

              This jacket is not really lightweight, but it does compress well enough to fit into a pack efficiently when you decide to take it off.

              All in all, this jacket is a great layering piece for any cold weather outdoor activities. However, as a standalone jacket, I would not recommend it because of its complete lack of windproofing.

                Wonderful product, extremely lightweight and extremely warm. I use it as a middle layer over my capilene baselayer. It is very breathable and if it gets too warm i crumple it into my backpack and i hardly feel the extra weight. The outside "fur" is responsible for the warmth and the breath-ability and so i always wear a shell or a windproof fleece over this jacket. I think care has to be taken to keep the fur for getting damaged.
                And yes the girls cant keep their hands of this one.
                I hardly ever wear this around in the city because its too warm and dont want to damage the fur.
