Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
I use this kayak mostly in nearby lakes. My previous kayak was much heavier and I found myself lagging behind. Now I can keep up with others and lead the pack if I want to. The design is perfect for a smaller female or male. (I am 5'4"). The lime green color gets a lot of attention. It's a deeper color than in pictures and is so pretty! This is my third kayak and my favorite!

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
We bought two kayaks. One for me and one for my wife. It is definitely designed for a women. I'm 5'8" 160 pounds and it works nice after I moved the seat back one bolt hole.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
Great kayak. I'm presonally just getting into kayaking so I don't have a lot to compare it to but so far it's been a great experience and I would certainly recommend it to a friend or anyone else who is looking for a kayak that is easy to start with and grow into.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
Well... I bought this kayak after moving close to a large, slow moving river. I have used my parents' kayaks before but they are all SOT/Hobie types and really don't compare.
I chose the Tribute because I needed something that I could easily load on my car by myself. This kayak is perfect for this. It is very light weight and manageable.
I was worried that I would be too large and have difficulty getting in and out of the boat. This has not been the case (not saying it's easy, but I have gotten pretty good at with practice).
So far I am in love with this boat. For someone of my limited experience, it is fast, stable, tracks well, and is easy to turn. It is also very comfortable.
Very highly recommended! Also, I have gotten many comments on how nice looking it is (actual lime color is much more attractive and bright than it appears in the website photo).

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
I upgraded to the Tribute 12.0 from an old Perception Sparky 9.5. The Tribute tracks much better, is just as easy to haul, and maneuvers well. My speed has increased also. If you're looking for a 12 footer that is easy to carry and get on your car - this is it! On calm water it's plenty stable.
Minor complaints: the cockpit is a little cramped (I am very small-framed and my legs get restless/achy after a few hours in this - but then again, the cockpit in my old kayak was as wide as they come, so it may simply be that I got used to the larger size). Also, paddling this out in the open on a windy day = not fun. I was out in 20-30mph winds and it felt much less stable and wasn't easy to turn.
Great lightweight boat for smaller women (or men) who plan on using it for casual outings on fairly calm water.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
I kayak on rivers and small lakes in Northern Wisconsin, and Perception has done a fantastic job modifying a bigger boat for day use. I would not take this on a large lake or out on a windy day. It maneuvers great on the river and draft is only a few inches, so shallow spots don't slow me down much.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
I love this kayak! I had another one and compared to that one, the Perception Tribute is like switching from a tank to a Mazzarati. It tracks like a dream and is very stable. The foot rests are just right for a woman (and adjustable) and it's easy to lift onto my Hullavator and push up. I love the padded cockpit sides and the seat is far more comfortable than others in which I've sat. I've had it in smooth and rough water and used it in rather high winds while on the water and it tracks well in all situations. I have not yet taken it into any rapids, but since it *is* a long kayak, would hesitate to go higher than a class III. Since it was ergonomically designed for a woman, it is the perfect kayak for those with a smaller frame.
