The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
I paddle on the 3 rivers of Pittsburgh, PA, and this kayak is perfect for it. The water is usually flat, though this boat has been great on choppy days too.
When I was in the market for a kayak, it was really important to me that I be able to lift it and load it onto my car by myself, and I can do that with this boat.
Tracks well, is extremely stable, and is moderately fast. Though I have yet to try it, I suspect this boat would work out great for a short camping trip.
Highly recommended for recreational paddling.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
I love this kayak! I had another one and compared to that one, the Perception Tribute is like switching from a tank to a Mazzarati. It tracks like a dream and is very stable. The foot rests are just right for a woman (and adjustable) and it's easy to lift onto my Hullavator and push up. I love the padded cockpit sides and the seat is far more comfortable than others in which I've sat. I've had it in smooth and rough water and used it in rather high winds while on the water and it tracks well in all situations. I have not yet taken it into any rapids, but since it *is* a long kayak, would hesitate to go higher than a class III. Since it was ergonomically designed for a woman, it is the perfect kayak for those with a smaller frame.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
For a quick day paddle on calm water, this is a great boat! It's very easy to to lift and tracks fairly well. The main thing that I don't like is that even in the lowest setting, the seatback sticks up higher than the cockpit, which makes putting a sprayskirt on somewhat awkward. Also, for paddling in rougher open water, I would want additional floatation in the bow since there is no forward bulkhead.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
I kayak on rivers and small lakes in Northern Wisconsin, and Perception has done a fantastic job modifying a bigger boat for day use. I would not take this on a large lake or out on a windy day. It maneuvers great on the river and draft is only a few inches, so shallow spots don't slow me down much.

Comments about Perception Tribute 12 Kayak:
I upgraded to the Tribute 12.0 from an old Perception Sparky 9.5. The Tribute tracks much better, is just as easy to haul, and maneuvers well. My speed has increased also. If you're looking for a 12 footer that is easy to carry and get on your car - this is it! On calm water it's plenty stable.
Minor complaints: the cockpit is a little cramped (I am very small-framed and my legs get restless/achy after a few hours in this - but then again, the cockpit in my old kayak was as wide as they come, so it may simply be that I got used to the larger size). Also, paddling this out in the open on a windy day = not fun. I was out in 20-30mph winds and it felt much less stable and wasn't easy to turn.
Great lightweight boat for smaller women (or men) who plan on using it for casual outings on fairly calm water.
