Comments about Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Men's:
I bought this jacket 3 weeks ago on a great review from a team member at REI and a friend who owns one. I used it as an insulating layer under a Marmot soft shell, windproof jacket to hike a 14er in Colorado.
The temp at 3:30 am was around 25 degrees. This jacket was extremely warm, light and packable. The only place I was sweating was where my backpack touched my back; other than that, perfectly comfortable, no sweat at all, very warm and comfortable.
The jacket has been windproof so far as well with winds up to 20 mph (estimate). I was walking home from school in a light rain shower and the jacket didn't get wet.
I am 6'0" and 165 pounds. Arm length is perfect, waist length perfect. Slightly bulky in the chest but I am a thin guy. I am wearing it indoors as I type, around 72 degrees, and am perfectly comfortable.
It was on sale at REI for a great price: if I had to choose between the hooded compressor and non-hooded compressor at their respective MSRP prices, I would choose the hooded for sure. But I couldn't beat the sale price.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Men's:
I bought this jacket to use for traveling, because it is very warm for it's weight, is not bulky, and is easily packed into a suitcase. It is a very nice looking jacket too! I did find it to be just a bit tight in the armpit area, so you may want to consider getting a larger size than you normally wear. Overall, it is a great product (as it should be for the price).

went backpacking this weekend on the AT in Georgia with lows in the very low thirties this jacket did the job. Very comfortable at those temps didn't need another layer over the top. Would definitly recommend to friends.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Men's:
I get cold fairly easily, and was looking for a jacket that was lightweight and packable, but could still keep me warm. This jacket does all that and then some. It is the lightest jacket I have ever owned, more comparable to a heavy shirt than another jacket.
I have worn it camping and hiking in temperatures down into the 30's and it has kept me warm with just a fleece pullover and T-shirt underneath. It is a great jacket for layering. It slides right over top of your other clothing.
The fit is a little tighter than most. I am 5' 9" and 130 pounds and I got a Medium. It fits a little sung around the shoulders, but I like a tighter fit. As other reviewers have said, if you are unsure about the size, you may want to size up. I have only had it a little over a month, but it seems fairly durable. Because of the price I am a little cautions with it, and still take it off before I climb.
Overall I love this jacket, it's surprisingly warm and very comfortable. It does not disappoint.
Service and delivery comments:
Used REI in store pickup and the jacket was shipped and delivered in about a week. Can't beat no shipping fee and speedy delivery.

. It is warm but can be warn inside. It is comfy with the prima loft and very ajustable. It is just a little baggy on me however i am quite slim. It keeps me warm in snow with a tshirt under it. with a flecee under it i would use it to go skiing.

I bought this for my husband to use as his everyday casual winter jacket, but wanted something lightweight and breathable and suitable for outdoor adventures. This jacket fit the bill. The lightest jacket he's every worn, and it will pack well in a backpack. Definitely recommend it. Great fit as usual for Mountain Hardwear - esp. for slimmer physiques.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Men's:
I got this jacket at the Labor Day sale for [$] I usually wear an XL, but ended up buying an XXL and it's a better fit. I have a little extra room, but agree with the previous review that you may want to size up. I got this to replace my fleece layer while backpacking. Lighter, and much more compressible.
