I typically wear this jacket over 2 light/mid weight fleeces, all size small, without feeling like I'm stuck in a sausage casing. This jacket has kept me toasty while snowshoeing in 20 degree mountain weather, yet didn't roast me on 50 degree Yellowstone days. Light spray just beaded up on the surface, but a rain layer is definitely needed if you get anything more than a mist. Crushes down very small, is super lightweight, and the slim styling keeps you lookin' good.

I really like this jacket; the only suggestions I would have for improvement is the addition of a hood, and a cozier lining for the hand pockets. The pockets are lined with the same taffeta as the rest of the jacket, and I found I always needed gloves to get my hands warm in them. I assume these elements were left out to keep the weight down, so definitely not a dealbreaker...just remember your hat and gloves.

My wife tends to wear clothes more on the dressy side. She is not an adventure gear junky. That being said she wears this jacket all the time. She loves it. It has a nice feminine fit and is light but warm. We bring it everywhere.

It's good for her without too much layering till near freezing temps. After that it's time for layers and or shells.
