The rugged REI Acme pants provide a great microclimate for outdoor sports that are strenuous and movement intensive. They feature a fitted design with articulation that maximizes freedom of motion.

  • Acme pants thrive in nearly all conditions except for high heat and humidity; use them for trekking, mountain biking, mountaineering and backcountry skiing and packing
  • Schoeller® Dryskin fabric offers excellent breathability, minimizing sweaty buildup during sustained vigorous activity

      I bought these for a climb up Rainier to Camp Muir. It was 50's at Paradise and 20's and windy at Muir. My legs never got hot or cold, including when I was glissading down the snowfield. These pants are great but the waist is a bit high but I'd rather that than snow down my pants. Can't wait to wear them on my Rainier summit climb next month.

        I needed a pair of pants to wear outdoors in rainy, cold conditions. I have had these pants one year and when I am not in my city clothes I am in these. They have replaced sweatpants. I can excercise (mostly hiking and a little cross country skiing) in them or just wear them around. I love unzipping the bottom slightly to give them an updated shape. When its cooler I add a base layer under them. I loved the fit but did have to go up a size as the waist was a tiny bit tight. They stretch though, and that's why I can wear a base layer under them. Now I am going to buy my second pair one size smaller to wear without a base layer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

        Love the design of these pants, just what I was looking for, but the fit was awful. REI, please make some pants that fit "Jr." body types! The waist is too small, too high and the seat is WAY too big. I tried on several great REI brand pants which had awesome designs, but the fit was so disappointing! If you have the body type to fit these pants they would be great choice.

        I loved these pants, except they had such a strage fit. They were really tight in the thighs and gapped at the waist. They were also really roomy in the hips, so much that I could have stuck my hands down both sides of the pants. Still I considered keeping them because they material was so nice. I wish they fit me better. I am 5'10 and approx 165, I ordered a 12. If you have curves they will probably be perfect.

          These pants are great! I used them for snowshoeing, telemark backcountry sking, cross country touring, and then you can wear them right into town. Very flexible fabric, quiet and comfortable. Great wind and snow resistance. Fitwise, they run big, but the regular length was long enough for me, which is unusual. I'm 5'10" and wear a size 6, but should have got these in a 4, as they run big in the hips. But got them on sale, so no size 4 available. (need a belt so I can stop tugging them up!)

            These pants feel like my second skin. I think they run a little small. I usually wear size 12, but 14 felt much better. Wore them in the Grand Canyon and back home on the airplane. I am thinking about getting my husband a pair. They truly are comfortable.

            I really love the way these pants feel - the material is great. The fit was a bit off - the waist gapped a bit, but the hips and thighs fit great. I am curvy and average height. I like the feel of these pants so much that I was going to get them tailored until I realized that the zipper will just not stay up! There is no way to secure the zipper so that it stays up. The final straw was when I was in REI over the weekend trying on hiking boots and an REI employee came over to tell me that my fly was down. How embarrasing!
