I was debating between this and the smart wool NTS Micro weight T shirt, which costs the same. The reason for getting this one over the smart wool, was it was more body hugging so I could easily wear a second base layer or under my cycling jersey's in the early spring. The smart wool, wasn't really next to skin as the name implies. However this one is quite body hugging that it looks like my little muscles are bulging.

The high cost of wool t-shirts always put me off, but I was tired of smelling like a goat in my synthetic t-shirts after a day of hard hiking or bicycling. I bought my first Icebreaker a few months ago, along with a Patagonia, which I was told would be the least smelly synthetic. The Patagonia was no better than my other synthetic t-shirts (including an older Patagonia), and absolutely had to be washed after one day's use. The Icebreaker has been worn for 6-8 sweaty days with no washing and very little smell. Amazing!

This may seem more like an endorsement for wool than for the Icebreaker brand, but the Icebreaker is very comfortable and has held up well after several months of hard use. You need to be thin for a good fit, and you may need to go one size larger than your normal. I love mine, and bought another Icebreaker today.

I use this shirt anytime between relaxing at home to climbing a mountain. It has a snug well fitted feel. It's not itchy at all its actually way more comfortable than my cotton shirts. The color is cool too.
The good things can be bad things too. This thing gets warm! It doesnt smell like BO or sweat when you get hot but it does have a wet wool smell. The tighter fit is great when you are out in the woods or at home-but I cant really go out shopping in this. I feel like a super hero wearing something so tight.
For what its for-this is shirt is awesome. I have a hard time buying regular shirts when I know I could save up and get an IceBreaker. I highly recommend this!
