Comments about Highgear Terrapod Handheld Weather Station:
It doesn't seem to work right. I can't tell if the barometer is close or not because I don't understand the numbers and the book it comes with doesn't say a single thing to teach you how to read it. The altimeter is off, maybe it is too touchy... And the temperature gauge is WAY off. I am pretty sure it wasn't 108 degrees last weekend. The compass was completely opposite when I turned it on, but fortunately that is the only feature it tells you anything about calibrating. The only feature I haven't had any problem with is the clock, and it sure is an expensive clock.
I am highly disappointed and am bringing it back for a refund.

Comments about Highgear Terrapod Handheld Weather Station:
So far works at described for me. Takes 30-60 seconds to update the altitude and several minutes for the temperature-sensor (must be inside the housing). Temp is pretty accurate; it matches the temp when near the thermostat and changes as I move it around the house to find cold spots. Only way to turn it off is to remove the battery. Battery is supposed to last 1 year. Altimeter is accurate to within 100 feet. Controls easy to use; Manual needs to have more detail. Small round lithium battery is user replaceable. Very light unit, can attach to backback using small clip or tie with cord.
