Comments about SKS Shockblade 29'' Front Fender:
I've seen two mounting expansion plugs come loose. Asked SKS to send one and they told me to buy one. They're special order and cost as much as some fenders themselves. Too bad. The fenders themselves seem fine......

Comments about SKS Shockblade 29'' Front Fender:
Well,For starters - I'd have to agree to some level with the comments that this thing can come loose, easily. I actually had lost one due to this exact problem. With that said - I picked up a second one because when it worked... it worked well. This time around however - I dropped a couple of drops of Blue Loc-tite... No Problem with that sucker coming loose again. As for the comments regarding inability to pickup extra mounts... that is Fortunately - NOT TRUE... although - I did have the same exact experience when trying to contact SKS directly. It wasn't until I did a little searching on my own for the parts - which happen to be available through [...]The two gripes that I DO have with the product:1) On the 29er version - the plastic gets a little long and thin - resulting in quite a bit of rattling up against the front tire when the trail gets a bit rougher (albeit - I use this out in the PNW during our wet season, on a MtB).2) With the onslaught of new 1.5" headtubes today - it would be nice to have an insert for mounting that would fit that properly. My wife just got a new bike - and there is NO WAY any of the extra inserts are going to fit in there.

Comments about SKS Shockblade 29'' Front Fender:
If you want the bolt to stay tight, use something called lock tite (duh). Any bike store/hardware store will have it. It secures metal to metal thread fittings.
I've used SKS fenders for years - they are the best. Front mount works perfect (friction fit from front - can be knocked loose if you blender). Perfect for road riders who don't want permanent fenders.
Rear fender is good (I run full suspension - have yet to find an excellent rear fender). It will get knocked to the side occasionally - but the new belt-tighten method actually works.

Comments about SKS Shockblade 29'' Front Fender:
I have to agree with the other reviewer. The fender is great but the mounting hardware comes loose and you can't easily buy just a new bracket. There must be better options.
