Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
I'm a first-time Marmot customer, but after my experience with these gloves I'd be hard-pressed to try the brand again. The gloves did keep my lined hands relatively dry, but the gloves themselves easily soak and freeze. Even with an extra wool lining these gloves failed to keep me warm whenever the temperature dipped below freezing. To cap it all off, the leather began separating at the seams within the first year of use when they were worn only during winter travels and hardly abused. My buddies with generic mittens never complained of freezing hands by comparison. One of the worst gear purchases I've made.

Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
I purchased these gloves because I needed a warm water proof glove while wokring on the Cataloochee ski patrol. IO used this glove all last year and it held up great. It kept me dry and warm. Even during rainy cold nights. The onbly draw back is on those warm rainiy days the gloves would tend to get too warm. But if you are not skiing in North Carolina You shouldn't have that issue.
I purchased this product but I do help test products and provide feedback to Gore through the Mountain Tech Program.

Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
I wore these gloves through about half a season's worth of weekend sidecountry ski sessions, and I'm already seeing the wear on these gloves.
The first problem I had was a small hole that opened up on the index finger where it was covered by the leather grip. I sewed it back together, and it held, but the gloves aren't nearly as waterproof.
The second problem, and what ultimately caused me to return the gloves was that the gauntlet cord adjustment toggle broke (the plastic became brittle and snapped). Because of the size of the pull tabs on the gauntlet you can't fit a replacement toggle onto the cord. Now snow can get into the wrists of the gloves and soak them from the inside out.
I'm not impressed with the quality of construction. I agree with another reviewer's question: "is Marmot not a top quality brand anymore?"

Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
The clips that keep the cuff elastic tight don't work in the cold. The cuffs keep loosing up and snow gets in the glove. Not acceptable for a pricey glove like this.

Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
As with other reviewers, the palm of these gloves wear very quickly. In less than half a season, I've two holes in my left glove where the thumb meets the hand.
Also, the waterproof membrane/fabric on these gloves is interior to several non-waterproof layers of fabric. Thus, although your hands might stay dry when the falling snow turns to rain and the powder turns to slush, your gloves will be cold bricks. These will be going back to REI.

Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
The gloves were comfortable and were one of the warmest pair of gloves I have had. Unfortunately, in less than 15 days of skiing, the palm of one glove tore severely while poling in the lift line. Upon returning under warranty, Marmot states that they can not repair the glove. Instead, they offered me a 100 dollar credit. I need a pair of gloves, not a credit, since Marmot has no other acceptable gloves, based upon the reviews of their alternative gloves.

Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
This glove has excellent features; simple but functional design, great weight/warmth, dexterity, fit, water proof, drying - all terrific.Unfortunately, after only 5 outings of few hours each of typical downhill skiing, the palms had several nicks, holes, and seam fray. They are just too delicate for any real use. For [$], no way...I took them back and ended up with Marmot's "Work" gloves from a non REI store - which are very similar to the Randonee, except with thick leather palms, and different color. Much better choice.

Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
This is my 2nd pair of Rondonee gloves, the 1st pair is still alive and kicking after 8+ years. The newest pair tore on the 2nd day! It looks like a seam failure on the palm side of my index finger, also there looks like another seam with loose stitching about to rip on the same glove.
Is this what Marmot has become? Sure, it's a warm glove and it works great in cold and wet weather, but if it rips so easily (on the palm side), should we stop considering Marmot a "durable" brand?

Comments about Marmot Randonnee Gore-Tex Gloves:
One of the best fitting waterproof gloves. For those of us with longer thumbs, this is one of three gloves that fit well...and I tried nearly all of them, except for Mountain Hardware, as they were out of my size (Large) that day. The others that had good thumb length were the Swany "X-change" and the Gordini "Fuse".
I chose the Marmot due to the superior construction and fit, compared to the other gloves that were tried. I didn't want pockets or zippers on the back of the glove....I want simple good solid gloves that look like they will last a few years. This glove fits the bill. Time will tell on durability, but Marmot is usually one of the best.

Bought these after my REI gloves died after 12 yrs of faithful service. I am amazed at the fit, comfort, warmth and versatility. Everything a winter sports glove should be and more!
