Comments about REI Nalgene Everyday Wide-Mouth Loop-Top Water Bottle - 16 fl. oz.:
I love the size of this Nalgene bottle. Until I found this size I found myself disappointed in the alternatives and the original size Nalgene was just too big for my everyday needs. This fits likes a glove in the mesh bottle area of my sport purse and 16 oz. is an ideal size. I'll admit to even using it a few times to use with an "adult beverage" when I forgot my typical "beverage" mug while camping - a thorough cleaning left no residual scents or tastes.
This is also a good size for young children since it's a manageable size for them, yet has a secure lid to keep everything from getting soaked when they clumsily tip it over. I can't even begin to count the number of board and card games that have been saved due to use of these bottles and my vigilance in telling the kids to secure the lid. The variety of color choices is nice too so each child knows which one is theirs.
One little warning though - traditional ice cubes are just a wee too big to fit in the opening. If you have the traditional trays I'd suggest filling them about halfway so they fit in. If you have an icemaker on your refrigerator with crescent shaped cubes you'll be fine.

Comments about REI Nalgene Everyday Wide-Mouth Loop-Top Water Bottle - 16 fl. oz.:
My main problem is this bottle is labeled as a 16oz bottle but is actually a 14oz bottle. I had an REI Camelback bottle that was actually 16oz and perfect for mixing protein drinks in. It disappeared from inventory. I bought two of these with the same expectation and the smaller size actually makes a big difference. I was very disappointed. It is still a good drinking bottle but I feel cheated by the description.

Comments about REI Nalgene Everyday Wide-Mouth Loop-Top Water Bottle - 16 fl. oz.:
I like to use this bottle to carry sauces for camping trips (backpacking or car camping), coffee creamer for work (my co-workers will poach my creamer if it is in a coffee creamer bottle), and juice for breakfast on the go. The advantage of the 16 oz over the 32 oz Nalgene is it is very easy to toss in the dish washer and actually have it get cleaned and not develop mold (which it surely would carrying the above liquids if it was the 32 oz. bottle). Anybody who has tried to use a 32 oz. bottle for carrying anything other than water knows what I mean, and how difficult it is to clean well. I have put tomato sauce, grapefruit juice, and creamer all in the same bottle, with washings in between, and there is no taste or smell retained in the plastic.

I LOVE THIS BOTTLE! I have a ton of different Sigg, Nalgene and other water bottles, as I like to rotate them and use different ones based on whatever activity I am doing. This is my new favorite bottle!
Yes, it is small. But that makes it perfect for going places where you can refill your bottle, or quick trips around town. It's super comfy to hold, and easy to drink from because the mouth is smaller than the 32 oz. Nalgene bottles. I love the colors and the REI designs. I also love that it has all the same Nalgene features I love - durable bottle, attached twist-off cap, etc. I also like that the mouthpiece is covered when the cap is screwed on (for hygiene), which is something I don't like about Sigg bottles, and is causing me to move more towards Nalgene bottles when I'm out and about.

Comments about REI Nalgene Everyday Wide-Mouth Loop-Top Water Bottle - 16 fl. oz.:
1. Two of these 16-ounce Nalgene bottles weight the same as a single 32-ounce Nalgene bottle.
2. The small size of this bottle allows you to put it into a pocket or into little nooks and crannies between your kit bags in your pack.
3. Here's the best part. Take two of these bottles with you when you go backpacking. At bedtime, fill them with boiling water and seal them up tight. Pull the wool socks you wore that day over the bottles and put the bottles in the bottom of your sleeping bag. They will keep your feet warm through the night. In the morning, put your nice warm dry socks back on your feet and put the bottles, which will still be warm, in your boots and warm them up.

Comments about REI Nalgene Everyday Wide-Mouth Loop-Top Water Bottle - 16 fl. oz.:
I would use this thing everyday, and in all scenarios without questioning. The loop on the lid is very strong and doesn't feel like it would break easily like others. It's small size keeps the weight down. Durable plastic body is fairly impact resistant. Love the "wide mouth" unlike other nalgene's around this size.I use this to stuff things into as an "emergency survival pack" when I'm out on the trail for a while. Works great carrying water everywhere else.

Comments about REI Nalgene Everyday Wide-Mouth Loop-Top Water Bottle - 16 fl. oz.:
I was so happy to finally find a little Nalgene bottle that wasn't the size of a Big Gulp. I take mine with me everywhere and have been better hydrated than ever. I throw it in my purse or simply carry it. And it's dishwasher safe! My only warning is to be sure to cap it VERY tightly...I've made a little swimming pool in my purse a couple of times, but now I know just to tightened it up as much as possible.

Comments about REI Nalgene Everyday Wide-Mouth Loop-Top Water Bottle - 16 fl. oz.:
This smaller version has replaced my insulated mug for backpacking. On over-nighters I use it for both hot and cold liquids. I just add a light and cheap neoprene beer coolie to insulate my hot drinks - it works great. The Nalgene leak-proof lids also work well for powdered drink mixes.
This smaller version also works well in my truck's drink holder - the larger 1 liter bottles don't fit.

I live off of Nalgene bottles. I use them every single day whether at the office, the gym, or on adventures. They truly are some of the best bottles out there.
