The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
Got this product separately and also as part of the Light My Fire Meal Kit. It's nice in that it's lightweight and comes in an array of colors to satisfy many but this spork is great by concept and looks great but it ends there. It's pretty flimsy and bends easily. The dual-sided design is convenient but it becomes a hassle when you eat with one side and need to flip it over to use the other. The handle part of it isn't long enough and your hands end up pushing up or touching against whatever residue of food it is that you were eating. Keep in mind I don't have man hands or anything and am a 5'4" girl.
In addition, the serrated knife edge is a nice addition...if you're going to use your hands to hold your food while you saw into it. Otherwise, you're just going to be pressing into your food hoping it'll split which you could do with the fork side.
This baby needs some re-design and more thought put into it. Forgo this one.

I've had a couple of these sporks for a couple years. They've held up well to heavy use. I find the knife part to be a little useless, that's my only complaint. I don't tend to eat meals while backpacking that require cutting sooo.... not useful for me. I love this lil guy! Great product!

Don't know what that girl was talking about - this thing works great. Cuts easily, forks easily, spoons easily. It's not meant for well-done steak, of course - that's what knives are for. The double-ended design makes it a little awkward to flip it around, but it works. It's for minimalists: carry one utensil, not three.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
Clever enough for a couple of bucks. It is what it is. Pros: Handy, drop in a pocket, the brighter colors are easy to find in the dark, licks clean. Cons: after reading other reviews I'm now expecting mine to snap anytime. The handle could be made an inch or so longer, as others have noted. The knife edge on the fork end isn't intended for much; that's why you brought your Swiss Army knife, right?
Another simple ultralight option is just swinging through a drivethrough and pick up some sturdy/durable plastic utensils for free. Last time I checked Wendy's had the right type plastic (white, unbreakable) & they weigh nothing to boot. No tears if you lose one. REI also sells larger versions for about a buck...and charity thrift stores have huge utensil bins with many backcountry-worthy items.

I've had this a year and absolutely love it. I'm surprised by the negative reviews. I use it almost everyday for lunches in the office and have never had a problem. The spoon is a very good size and doesn't have spork tines to get in the way. I've never cooked over a stove with it, maybe that's their problem.
Hint: When needing to switch ends, it licks clean easily. Hey, it works great.

We use these all the time whenever we go hiking/camping/backpacking. The wide color choice is nice when finding your own utensil after meal clean-up. The handle could be slightly longer. When you're using one utensil for multiple meals that may require a fork or spoon, this is great! I've also picked up the larger version for serving one pot meals.

Just got back from 2-week backpacking trip through Adirondaks. This spork worked great and held up just fine traveling in backpack and during use. Did have to use my brother's longer spoon to reach bottom of peanut butter jar. Would buy again.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
I have four of five of these things and I love 'em. OK, if you're trying to cut a New York steak, they may not be the best implement choice, but for everything I've ever used them for, they are great! Got one in the glove compartment (I love my grub), one in the purse, one in the day pack, etc.
You can actually lick 'em clean if you're not near water. Great little invention.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
This lightweight multi-utensil is great so long as you don't try and work it too hard. As another reviewer said, the plastic bends easily and in fact mine snapped in half just trying to get peanut butter out of the jar. Now the two ends are too short to be any use. Have replaced it with a titanium version at perhaps 3 times the weight but am safe in the knowledge that the thing will keep performing when I need it to.

Comments about Light My Fire Spork:
I love this spork. It was my only eating utensil for a 2 month bike tour and it worked great. Useful for cooking since it won't scratch teflon pots. Plus you get a full spoon, not a spoon with fork tines getting in the way. I haven't had one break yet, and I've used this to spread peanut butter on bread.
I just bought another four at a great price on REI Outlet for spares in case one ever breaks or to share with friends. I might buy one of the bigger "serving" size sporks from Light My Fire just to make it easier to reach down into deep freeze dried food packages.
