This kit is great for Scouting. The dishes are small and light. Perfect for any scout who is day hiking or overnight hiking. Made of a very durable plastic. The mesh bag allows the dishes to dry after they are washed. I recommend this to any Scout who camps/hikes. Has a smooth surface for name identification with a permanent marker as well.

Bought these for backpacking trips. If you're like me and can't afford the titanium stuff, these are nice and light, cheap, and keep food warm longer than metal gear.
When I'm hiking solo I only take the spoon, fork, and cup, and eat right out of my food bag. When going with multiple people and making better food I take it all with me and have a backcountry feast. The mesh bag it comes in is also handy for loading with rocks to assist in hanging a bear bag.
The cup is great as it has 1/2 cup, 1 cup, and 1.5 cup measurements on the side. Also kept my coffee warm for about 10 minutes.
The gear is very easy to keep clean.

except that it seems that all of the boys in the troop have the same kit and permanent marker wears off quickly! My 2 boys and I each have had one for 2 or 3 years now and have had zero problems.

Both the bowl and plate cracked in under two weeks - the bowl, in fact after its first use. No idea why. Car camping, nothing extreme, etc. Expected more, even for the price.
