Rated 2 out of 5 by from didn't work well with my kids We got this for our 1st child for a trip with friends to Yosemite. It wouldn't configure with either my wife's nor my bicycle, so we actually bought another bike so we could mount the special rack you need to use this seat. While the product is well made and does what it says, there is an inherent problem. I believe in most states, any child has to wear a helmet when in any bicycle. This resulted in our son having to bend his neck forward since his helmeted head runs into the back of the seat. Uncomfortable, and also no chance he might be able to fall asleep if it were nap time. So we ended up buying one of those trailers you pull, which was much better-- more comfortable, most models you can fit two kids, and they can fall asleep safely, even with their helmets. I should've returned the item immediately, but REI took it back a few years later (I used it only twice-- the Yosemite trip and one other time, before realizing the concept was flawed). I felt a little guilty, but this is why I support this company so much. Once either of my children were tall enough that their head would clear, they were riding their own bikes. So maybe this will work for bigger kids, dunno.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The CHOICE is up to YOU!!! With any purchase, " You have to do your Homework "... and if you're putting this seat on your bike, you will likely use that phrase in the future! This is a sample check list to assist when buying a Child bicycle SEAT and/or TRAILER: - Budget - Do I know how to ride a bicycle? - What level of rider are you? - Where will I be riding most frequently? - How much car/bicycle/pedestrian traffic? - Size and Age of Child? - How long do you plan to use the product for? (Consider: the weight Limits/Restrictions of both the product and equally important, YOU the rider! Children have been know to get larger as they age so a trailer would logically last longer! - Ensure that the bicycle you plan on using is configured appropriately to hold a rear rack or tow a trailer (Avoid Carbon!!). Keep in mind that no product is ideal for all situations, otherwise there wouldn't be features and benefits!!! Be creative in making the tools work for both you and your child so that you enjoy that activities!!! Seat/Rack Combo is great knocking around city streets, busy paved trails, cruising threw the weekend market, etc. Close proximity to child is also nice as they are younger. Bike will be slightly more top-heavy, staying seated will help. Mounting and Dismounting can be tricky, a KICKSTAND make due for an assistant. Trailer is equally great as your child gets older/larger, requires more stimuli, may even have a balance bike, etc. There is no denying that you can bring more with you in the trailer, but remember, you may need to pedal back up the hill you just cruised down. Happy Riding!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dangerous Ride I purchased this product because it had good reviews. It had been recalled in 2012, but the issue was fixed in good faith. I am an avid cyclist and a safety fanatic. I was HORRIFIED when I rested the bike against the wall and my husband leaned on it and the seat CRACKED. It should be stronger than that?!!! Imagine my daughter had been in the seat. Unbeleivable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from baby seat great for younger toddlers, the bar in front not only gives them something to hold onto but also peace of mind that their more secure. adjustable foot rests are also a plus as is the straps to keep their feet safe from the spokes!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from baby seat This is a great seat for older kids, ours is 2 & 1/2 and he is terrified of the pull behind carrier. So this is the only option for us- its a bit awkward with a kid at this weight, but he loves it!! its comfortable and its nice that the foot pedals have straps to keep their feet away from the spokes. I was sold mostly on the bar in front, it makes me feel like he's more secure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't fit well with my bike geometry I finally bit the bullet and paid for this pricey bike seat. I looked forward to getting this seat and spending time with my child while getting exercise. After spending time in the garage carefully attaching it to my bike I disappointingly discovered that the baby's hand bar overlaps with my own bike seat. I guess it wasn't designed for the size and geometry of my bike - I'm 6'1" and my city bike is a 1994'ish Trek mountain bike. So I packed it back up and am waiting to make a road trip through a town with an REI so I can return it. Who knows, if it had fit maybe I would have given it 5-stars. The construction seemed fine. My hesitation as to whether or not it'd work did have me buy through REI rather than a LBS because of REI's reliable return policy.
