Comments about Yakima RocketBox 15s Roof Box:
I have a small Subaru so i though that this would be a great little box. Had it for a couple of months and it works is great :) Not too loud... really stable... light enough so that I can take it off easily. Overall a really nice cargo box and would recommend it to friends.

Comments about Yakima RocketBox 15s Roof Box:
Bought the RocketBox 15s about a year ago and couldn't be happier with it. It's easy to put on and take off, even in high winds. The clamps have held up great and the hinges and locks are in excellent shape. I have over packed it many times and it has never failed me. We've taken it on many long road trips and never worried that it would come off or burst open. Its aerodynmic design barely cuts down on my MPG on the highway. We just returned from a 2 week vacation of camping and beach play for my family of 6 and had little trouble fitting all our bags inside. Plus, sandy and wet items are better kept on top rather then inside my car.

Comments about Yakima RocketBox 15s Roof Box:
This box fits perfectly on the short roof of my Nissan Murano. I typically use it when I need the extra space to go camping and whenever I don't want wet gear in the Murano. I always install it all by myself which is easy to do because it is light. It does require some effort to affix to my roof though. This is because the box only opens from one side and there are four twist knobs inside the box. I am tall with long arms and I still have to use a step ladder in order to reach all the way across to tighten two of the knobs. This would not be as much of an issue on a smaller vehicle or taller ladder. Pass that, I love this box.

Comments about Yakima RocketBox 15s Roof Box:
The Yakima RocketBox 15s is a versatile little box that works great for camping gear. The only issue I had with mine was I hit some strong winds while driving through Palm Springs CA. and the nose of the box opened up and my stuff started to come out of the box on the freeway. The wind was strong enough that one of the metal hinges was bent. If this would have happed on a box that had plastic hinges, the entire lid of the box might have been ripped off. Driving back I used tie down straps to keep the box completely closed.
Yakima,
You need to beef up the front nose of the box so the wind can't pry it open. This box is too wide and not stiff enough.
Service and delivery comments:
REI was great about refunding the price of the Yakima Box

Comments about Yakima RocketBox 15s Roof Box:
This little box has a lot of cargo space. Three beach chairs, umbrella and REI roll away camping table. My daughters sand toys and my wifes yoga gear also fit with still some room to spare for a large duffel bag.
My gas mileage wasn't effected much due to it's design. It looks and feels great during the drive. Strong and durable. It doesn't overwhelm the vehicles looks and adds a little off-road go anywhere stance.
The only complaint is it only opens to one side. I have a small station wagon and for a small statured family there is trouble trying to reach our hands to the latch side even with a ladder to install and tighten it down. I see trouble if my wife and I wanted to get an item out if it was closest to the hinge side. Also mine didn't come with a latch pull to close it down.

Comments about Yakima RocketBox 15s Roof Box:
This box was very easy to install on the existing roof rails on my Ford Focus wagon. I love the quick-turn thumbscrews and the very easy rapid install hooks. It's wide enough that it takes up the entire roof area, so we won't be able to put bikes on the roof, but the flip side is that it's short enough we can open the tailgate fully with the box in place. The fact that it opens from the side makes it easier to load on this car than a rear-opening box would have been. We did notice on its first use, packed full, that apparently wind resistance caused the front to be forced open just a bit. Not so much that anything could have come out, but enough that we wondered about its durability. I wish it had an additional locking mechanism on the front just for that purpose. The hinges seem very flimsy (bend easily from side to side) considering how expensive these boxes are. Overall, very happy with the product, thrilled with the guarantee from REI and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cargo box.

Comments about Yakima RocketBox 15s Roof Box:
We used it on a 3,600 mile trip through the southwest deserts. Whether lightly packed or heavily loaded, we didn't notice it while driving -- except mileage went down 3-4 MPG. Absolutely no penetration by snow, wind, dust, sleet, anything. You need a way to get up to it when it's on the top of your car -- running boards are good or, on a mini-van, your interior floor. Only problem: the screw handles tightening the mount grips take up cargo space. To fully pack you need things that fit between these.
