Comments about Panaracer Tourguard Pasela Bike Tire - 27 x 1-1/4:

With only 3 choices in 27" tires avaialble at REI I first tried the Sefas Seca's. After a couple of weeks I didn't like the roll and got a flat, so I traded to these. Definitely a better roll than the Seca's. Have held up well for over 1/2 a year.

I commute on a classic Peugeot U08 10 miles each way/45-50 miutes on asphalt streets and concrete bike path, flat terrain year around in Los Angeles. I do have plastic liners to protect against the dasterdly spiky sycamore seeds.

Comments about Panaracer Tourguard Pasela Bike Tire - 27 x 1-1/4:

First, a brief words of warning -

Do not get this tire if you are going to use the bike for racing, training, or anything where your #1 goal is to leave other riders and the occasional car in your wake. If that's our goal, this is not the tire for you.

If you're looking for a tire for commuting, touring, recreational riding, and something perhaps suited to variable terrain (a little bit of light town-trail riding perhaps), then this is the tire for you.

I use the 27x1-1/4" Pasela on a 1976 Motobecane Grand Jubilee. The tire looks and feels spectacular. It is noticeably taller and wider than most 27x1-1/4" tires - some who use this tire compare it to the 27x1-3/8" tires of other manufacturers. It's thicker profile allows enables it to ride at relatively lower pressure, but with still enough speediness to get moving at a quick clip.

I like it, and would definitely buy again. But definitely be aware of what you're looking for before ordering.

Comments about Panaracer Tourguard Pasela Bike Tire - 27 x 1-1/4:

Nice gumwall tire for your vintage bike with 27" wheels. Fairly light and supple, more puncture-resistant than the old tires were.
