This lantern is by far the best one I have used in 30 years. It does exactly what it is supposed to do,provide light for the campsite. It can be easily adjusted and will not light up the entire forest. Lets face it were camping because we want to get away from "city lights". On a usable setting it will easily last a weekend and a half. The hanging wire is a definite plus, although it does get hot. So hang it in a safe place or get the optional butane can base (you can use it for your stove also). The carrying case makes it less prone to break if packed improperly.
All in all you cant go wrong with this light. The Primus yellowstone stove is a equally goood product.

I am floored at how excellent this lantern is. I love having a lantern at the campsite however most lanterns are just too heavy to add to your pack.

While I would still say this lamp is a creature comfort (I mean really you do not NEED a lantern) this creature comfort is worth the small amount of weight and space in your pack.

The light output is smooth and bright with minimal noise. The provided case works very well. If I had to find something wrong with the lantern it would be a lack of subtlety with adjustments. The lamp is either on low or high more or less.

This is hardly a problem really. I do not think I will every own another lantern unless it is a second one of these.

This lantern is the perfect companion for a pleasing level of light when you need it and serves double duty in the winter as a small but powerful heater in the tent.

I actually have an older model without piezo but has the same design. While one must be extreemly careful with such devices inside a tent, a bit of common sense and careful use will reward you with 20-30 degree increase in ambient over the outside of the tent. This is great when going to bed or wakeing in the morning. I do not sleep with it lit all night.....again common sense. Remember to suspend a safe distance from tent roof and open a vent or 2. You should be doing this anyway to avoid condensation.

As for the light output, its perfect. No you cant perform brain surgery with it, but it is plenty useful for cooking or setting up camp.

I highly recommend this product and find it to be one of my most useful gadgets.

The Easy light lantern is great for overnight trips, up to three or four days. It claims to have a 24 hour run time, I haven't timed it but it runs long. Easy light has good light output for a compact lantern. It seems to be well built and user friendly.Great for trips when you don't need a serious amount of light, but want enough to get by comfortably. GOOD STUFF!

as pretty much every one else sums it up on here its defiantly a comfort item but the weight and size are good enough that i don't mind putting it in my pack. i love BSing after a long hike and everybody is done setting up camp but if your in a place that doesn't allow fires or there is a fire ban then your pretty much done when the sun goes down. unless you want to stare at each others headlamps. thats why i got this bad boy. just for the fact that i can have a nice ambient light as the sun goes down. i have to say the light output is excellent and although i haven't timed it or anything but its supposed to get good burn time. it seems a pretty sturdy design and love the piezo lighter on it. super quick setup and even quicker to get going. i have other products from primus and have learned to rely on them so thats why i didn't hesitate with this purchase.

I am a mountaineer and I was introduced to this product by a fellow climber. It really adds a nice touch when you're stuck in a whiteout on the side of mountain. I know it's a creature comfort, but it also works well as a mini-furnace and helps to warm up a tent or dry wet gear (just make sure to ventilate the tent properly). I was sold after one trip with my friends and had to go out and buy my own. This one is even quieter than my friends, I love it!!!

Of the lanterns I own, this is the favorite. The Snow Peak Titanium is lighter and smaller, but I love how easy this one is to light, and the quality of light it produces - thanks to the frosted globe. The hanger cord is easy to use and a great feature to hang from a branch. No messy liquid fuel, and the canisters are compatible with other things like the Jet Boil. I accidentally left my 1st one in a forest somewhere - so I bought another, even though I have a couple other lanterns.

Lit this thing off and I was amazed!! No really. It really has a great light output. For the size it beats all the lanterns that I have tried. You can actually set and read and not have to set 18 inches away. Lites fast when cold. Can be dimmed down to barely a light.While it is a bright light the emitted heat from the top is quite small. I could comfortably hang on to the provided hang wire for some time with no heat reaching my hand. I think that you could hang it from a tree limb or inside the tent without any problem. Use care of course.

There are lighter and smaller lanterns, but this is my favorite. Super easy to light with the auto ignition. The frosted globe creates a nice diffused light, and the lightweight wire hanger design is the best I've seen. Just loop the wire over a branch, and hook the wire back on itself. The protective case can be a little bulky in a back pack.

It uses the same fuel canisters as most stoves, so it is nice to be able to use the same fuel source for all.

One other benefit of this lantern not mentioned before is it is great at COMPLETELY emptying your canisters. I always try to take a full canister or 2 on my hikes and they never get used up completely by the stove. This lantern will suck them dry. Pop a hole with a church key and they can go in the regular recycling can with the other steel.

I've had this lantern for 2 years now and have used it frequently. The size is ideal and the case is very sturdy.

I love primus stuff and this lantern is one of their best products.
