The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Primus EasyLight Lantern with Piezo:
Read several complaints about the ignitor on this little guy. I've never had any problems. I just make sure to adjust it close enough to the gas diffuser that I get a spark each time i have to put on a new mantle. Also heard complaints of short run times, I tested it at home on a low setting and it ran for 32 hr straight on a 100g fuel canister. Love it!

Comments about Primus EasyLight Lantern with Piezo:
This thing is great, I am not a big fan of the harsh light LED headlamps put out, but do enjoy their functionality. After a recent camping trip I used one of those big 2 mantel propane lanterns and went on a 3 hour long middle of the night hike. I found the light given off by the lantern to be so pleasant, that I thought I would give this thing a try (since the large propane lantern is not practical for backpacking). I received this thing, and couldn't be happier with it. I was a little worried that it was going to have a harsh light since its powered by the same stuff my jetboil runs, but to my surprise it cast the same charming glow as a propane lantern.
Things to note:
-The website says that it does not come with a mantel, but when I opened the package there was in fact one mantel inside.
-The instructions say that it only works with the Primus fuel, but I have been running mine on jetboil fuel without issue
-As others have mentioned, the hard case it comes with is a little bulky, but I am sure that it will protect the glass globe if you toss your pack on the ground, drop it on a rock
-This thing is very adjustable and it is easy to appropriately set the light for a given situation

Comments about Primus EasyLight Lantern with Piezo:
I'm sure you've used a large propane two mantel lantern before. You can light up a whole valley with one of those things. Perfect for your party of 50 friends... Except it is bulky, you worry about breaking the globe, it sounds like a jet engine, lighting them can be "exciting" (you know what I mean). Oh yeah and you turned night into noon time and lost all the ambiance that you were seeking with camping in the first place!
Solution: 14 of 14 (now 15) of "would recommend to their friends" can't be wrong.
I bought this for a summer car camping trip. When your GPS says "next turn in 396 miles", you know your getting out there. When it does it the second time, you know your there! Loved it.
-Peizo lit the first time, every time without any exciting 'delay' and 'foop'.
-You can run at a very low setting and just bump it up when you need task light.
-It's small & light.
-The case is secure so you won't break it.
Negatives:
-Must use Primus cylinder.

The light color from this lantern is simply beautiful, just speaks ambiance and "dine with me."
This light is sturdy and beautiful at the same time. I think this is the best light you can buy for camping. It's really lightweight and compact too.

Comments about Primus EasyLight Lantern with Piezo:
I'm never a first adopter,I always wait until the bugs are ironed out before I purchase an item. This lantern has been around for a while and gets good remarks from other users.
I've purchased two of these. One from REI, and the mesh globe model from moon trail in Texas. Finding mantels for this is not easy. REI really does not support this lantern well since it doesn't supply the mantels.
The lantern is self explanatory, but the case is a riddle to me. A small neoprene pouch would better serve this lantern than the bulky case it comes in. I'll either make one or find a supplier for one.
Carrying the case is not an option when backpacking... W'll soon see which is the better of the two the mesh globe or this unit. While the lumens are more with this unit, the mesh globe is touted as a rough and ready for anything model...

Comments about Primus EasyLight Lantern with Piezo:
I got this lantern for christmas and now can't imagine life without it. My job requires me to spend more than half the year living in the backcountry. This little lantern is by far the best compact, single mantle lantern I've ever used. The light output is great and the frosted globe is like having the warm glow of a home reading lamp with you in the wilderness. It makes nightime reading or working much more enjoyable than with a headlamp. In a well ventilated tent or when sleeping in a truck's camper shell it also makes a nice little heater (use a little common sense here). I like the integrated hanging cable and the carrying case as well. I have no worries about breaking the globe when rattling down 4-wheel drive roads or when stuffed in my pack. So far the piezzo lighter works perfectly (my experience has been that these things tend to be the first thing to fail so we'll see how long that lasts) Others have also noted that this lantern is the perfect way to empty out your partially used fuel canisters as well and I've put it to that use when camping from a vehicle. I wouldn't mind seeing primus have a go at a white gas version for those who carry white gas stoves. I can't comment on very cold weather performance yet but expect it's similar to butane stoves.
Overall this is an excellent product and definitely worth it's weight in the pack if you're a late night reader like me. I don't think I'd carry it on long backpacking trips because of the fuel needs (especialy if cooking with white gas or alcohol) but for short trips and vehicle/boat trips, or other situations where loading up on fuel won't weigh you down I wouldn't leave home without it.

Nice compact little lantern. Maybe a bit bulky for a backpack if you use the case. Other than that nice and small. I used it in my off grid RV and it was great. From very low light to super bright it worked great. Also helped heat the RV (somewhat). The mantle was a bit tricky to get on - got to bend the lighter out of the way and try not to tear it. Thumbs up. Better than bulky propane any day!!

Nice Lantern. Used it my RV to save batteries. Long run time and easy to adjust from extremely dim to very bright. Going to take it backpacking soon. Its a bit bulky in the case but should be fine if I have the room.

There are lighter and smaller lanterns, but this is my favorite. Super easy to light with the auto ignition. The frosted globe creates a nice diffused light, and the lightweight wire hanger design is the best I've seen. Just loop the wire over a branch, and hook the wire back on itself. The protective case can be a little bulky in a back pack.
It uses the same fuel canisters as most stoves, so it is nice to be able to use the same fuel source for all.

Comments about Primus EasyLight Lantern with Piezo:
One other benefit of this lantern not mentioned before is it is great at COMPLETELY emptying your canisters. I always try to take a full canister or 2 on my hikes and they never get used up completely by the stove. This lantern will suck them dry. Pop a hole with a church key and they can go in the regular recycling can with the other steel.
I've had this lantern for 2 years now and have used it frequently. The size is ideal and the case is very sturdy.
I love primus stuff and this lantern is one of their best products.
