Primus EasyLight Lantern with Piezois rated4.7143out of5by7.
Rated5out of5byfromdurable, light weight, reliableI got this about 2 years ago thinking I would take it packing with us. It's really not essential when packing for me ( have a head lamp), but did find a use for it when we went car camping. Each year a buddy and i fly out west or north west for backpacking, and some nights we will car camp when driving in between places. This thing is great to hang from a tree or just sit on a rock, great light output, packs small (for air travel, no fuel) and super efficient on fuel. I usually use this to burn up the end of jetboil canister. Started using it for car camping trips close to home with my son. Great light for making dinner in the fall when light roles off early. I recommend tucking an extra mantel in the bottom of the carrying case. Light control is pretty touching, usually really dim or really bright, but not really an issue. Gets kind of funky with light output at high altitudes (at 12K feet it flickered a bit and light output kind of varied).

Rated5out of5byfromAwesome little lanternTrying to downsize some of my older camping equipment, and after reading the reviews on this, thought it might be worth a try. This little lantern is definitely a keeper. It is MUCH quieter than the Coleman propane single and double mantle lanterns, it's much easier to pack, the piezo ignition is a plus, the light output on high with the frosted globe is much easier on the eyes, and the adjustment feature allows the lantern to be dimmed to barely lit. Like other reviewers mentioned, there was a mantle in the box with the lantern. And while the REI near my home does carry the mantles for this lantern now, I plan to stock up, just so I have extras on hand.

Rated4out of5byfromA Pretty Cool LanternThis isn't something I bring with me on every trip but when I do, it's awesome. It's easy to set up. The mantel is easy to install and prep. Once that's done, it's just a matter of screwing it onto a fuel canister. Lighting the mantel is a breeze. The piezo igniter worked everytime. I realize that not everyone is going to have the same result but lighting system is designed well and it should light the mantel with little effort. Once it's lit, it's bright. Alone, it's enough to light up a small campsite. It's all the light I need. I've had it on for 12 hours straight, mostly at a low setting and I still had plenty of fuel left. My best guess is that it will burn for at least 24 hours with a 110 (small) isobutane canister if one is conservative with the amount of fuel used. I only have 2 small gripes about the product. The first is that it's larger in size and heavier than I thought it would be. The second is that it would be nice to be able to detach the hanging wire more easily (it's not designed to detach at all but it can be done). Otherwise, I would give this product 5 stars.

Rated4out of5byfromdaintyVery cool little lantern, although after using it once, the ceramic shield on the ignitor cracked in half and rendered the ignitor useless. You could still use it with a lighter just fine. The glow from the lantern is beautiful. It would be sweet if they sold a stand for you to cook on it because the top gets so hot.

Rated5out of5byfromPerfect backpacking camp lightRead several complaints about the ignitor on this little guy. I've never had any problems. I just make sure to adjust it close enough to the gas diffuser that I get a spark each time i have to put on a new mantle. Also heard complaints of short run times, I tested it at home on a low setting and it ran for 32 hr straight on a 100g fuel canister. Love it!

Rated5out of5byfromAwesome lantern! This thing is great, I am not a big fan of the harsh light LED headlamps put out, but do enjoy their functionality. After a recent camping trip I used one of those big 2 mantel propane lanterns and went on a 3 hour long middle of the night hike. I found the light given off by the lantern to be so pleasant, that I thought I would give this thing a try (since the large propane lantern is not practical for backpacking). I received this thing, and couldn't be happier with it. I was a little worried that it was going to have a harsh light since its powered by the same stuff my jetboil runs, but to my surprise it cast the same charming glow as a propane lantern. Things to note: -The website says that it does not come with a mantel, but when I opened the package there was in fact one mantel inside. -The instructions say that it only works with the Primus fuel, but I have been running mine on jetboil fuel without issue -As others have mentioned, the hard case it comes with is a little bulky, but I am sure that it will protect the glass globe if you toss your pack on the ground, drop it on a rock -This thing is very adjustable and it is easy to appropriately set the light for a given situation
