Brunton has addressed several manufacturing issues with the Profile Duo stove. Modifications have been made to prevent the lid from catching on the drip tray, to prevent the drip tray from separating from the stove base during assembly and shipping, and to prevent the wind screens from catching on the underside of the lid. Packaging standards have also been improved to prevent damage during shipping.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
Came dented and chipped even though box looked perfect. Build quality so bad that it had to be taken apart first in order to put back together correctly so that all parts fit in their proper locations. Even after doing so, lid gets stuck on body every time and needs to be "banged" with hand to get loose. Lit great a few times, then suddenly wouldn't light anymore... no way to adjust igniter by hand (hidden inside burner).
I was hoping this was a step-up from the typical coleman unit, but instead was a big let down.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
I was excited to have received this unit today in the mail hoping to use it on my first camping trip with my son. However, I was extremely disappointed when I opened the package.
1. This supposedly 'new' unit appeared to have already sustained some wear and tear cosmetic scratches on the outside.
2. The unit is also extremely unstable. One of the four legs was much shorter than the rest.
3. I didn't even get a chance to open the unit to try it out, because the lid was 'stuck' between metal sheets. I didn't want to force it open so as not to damage it.
Needless to say, this unit is on it way back to the store. It was overall very disappointing given the overall price of this unit.

bluf: terrible
ordered the duo online... some time later, i get in the mail. awesome. i open the box and it looks like the item has been used due to all the wear on the various contact points. this wasn't a huge deal for me, as i assumed it would probably take some cosmetic damage over the next few years as i use it. still, this is poor when you're expecting something spit-shiny new. (rei confirmed that this was not a return/refurb) also, it seemed as if everything was super thin and flimsy. the wind shields didn't even match up. i tested the ignition. after 30-40 tries i decided to use a match. that was a dealbreaker. i sent it back and rei sent out a new one. this time, the lid won't even open. as i didn't want to rip off the lid, i decided to just exchange this for something with a higher build quality.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
The appeal of a dual grill/stove unit fit in perfectly as a cooking solution for a single camper with limited space in my Land Rover Defender 90 (jeepish style body) and the unit packs very nicely into my cooking case (Pelican 1650) with gobs of room remaining for fuel cans, pot/pans, knives, cutting boards, and all my other cooking gear.. an advantage when you are trying to keep all your cooking gear in one case to save room.
I bought the Brunton Profile Duo to replace my Timber Creek (a re-labeled Century unit for other retailers) grill/stove which I was not thrilled with and had a few problems on my last camping trip. When I got home, I set the Brunton up and started to recreate the last meal I prepared on my last camping trip, a steak, sauteed mushrooms, shrimp, and grilled artichoke hearts. The Piezo Ignition system worked every time I needed it to light either burner. The flame control for both burners was more evenly controllable than my other unit thus with the better flame control, sauteing and grilling were much easier. The Brunton also seemed to better heat the grill section more evenly than my other unit and cooking my steak didn't require shuffling it around looking for the better spot.
I also tested just boiling water on the stove burner. My other unit aside from having almost no usable flame adjustment, would sputter and flame out often.. and couldn't be relight with its "matchless" system. The Brunton's Piezo Ignition worked as it should and lit the burner every time and I had the normal range of flame adjustment one would expect to have.
Clean up was easier I thought than the other unit. Not really sure why, as both are basically a similar design but it just seemed that there was a hair bit more room to get under the grill burner to wipe down.
Another advantage I really liked is when its closed up ready for travel, the Brunton is almost a whole inch shorter than the Century/TC, which again, when trying to fit more into a single cooking case, a whole inch of room across the case can allow for a few more comfort cooking items.
Cleaning the removable grill surface was a bit easier than the other unit I though. Not as much seemed to hold on in the little corners.
I really loved the flexible hose that went to the propane bottle over traditional hard lines that don't allow you to move the fuel bottle more out of the way.
Something I would chalk up as "Cons" was it seemed after boiling water on the stove burner, it did take a noticeably longer time for the stove burner grill to cool off until it was safe to touch. Other than that I didnt have any problems with the Brunton Profile Duo.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
The best camping stove I have purchased this decade! The sleek design and color pattern are initially what stood out to me. Easy to control coated knobs with twist piezo ignition make cooking easy. The previous stoves had the push button piezo that worked every 15 times it was pressed. The large cooking surface fits all the pots needed for any camping expedition. Finally, the trays below the burners make for an easy clean up.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
Ordered this based on a magazine review. Stove wouldn't open due to sloppy manufacturing tolerances. The only way to open it would result in damage to stove lid and burner deck. Knobs appeared to be stuck on in a haphazard manner. Returned item without using.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
I was orignally drawn to the color and compact nature of the stove/grill, as it turns out it can put out some serious heat also. Only took about three minutes to boil 2 liters of water. The grill section left more to be desired, it got really hot, but you have to keep it extremely level to disburse the heat evenly and I wouldn't use for any thing greasey. Clean up was a little rough after grilling some teryaki chicken. I reccomend some aluminum foil under the burner to make claen up a little easier. I only used one coleman mini tank over a three night trip. Good grill just hard to clean.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
I was skeptical about how well this stove would work mainly because of how good it looked. My girlfriend and I bought this at an REI store and in comparison to the other models like it I would have to admit the construction, design and materials seemed superior. Both the burner and the grill lit on the first turn of the starter knob and have started on the first try ever since. Put a strip of tin foil under the grill plate and clean up is a breeze.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
This stove packs a punch, boils a big pot of water in less then three minutes. Easy to control temp on grill and single burner. Easy to lite burners with one turn of the knob. Cleaning is made easy with the stainless steel tray under burners, as well as a drip pan under the unit. Well worth the price.

Comments about Brunton Profile Duo Stove/Grill Combo with Piezo Ignition:
It seems that the reviews of this little stove/grill combo are one extreme or the other. For my wife and I, this was a great purchase. We just returned from a 4-day tent camping outing in the Nicolet and this stove/grill served all our cooking needs perfectly. We didn't experience the quality-control issues that others reported. We grilled brats, scrambled and fried eggs and bacon, grilled burgers, and boiled water for oatmeal and to clean dishes. No muss, no fuss, super easy to clean up. What's not to like? It was inexpensive, too, and used less than one pound of propane for 4 days of meals and cleaning.
