Comments about MSR Fuel Bottle with CRP Cap - 20 fl. oz.:

        MY opinion:

MSR Whisperlite International is the best stove money can buy. Read my review for some reasons why. One reason of course being that you don't need to buy disposable fuel canisters.

        - When choosing fuel bottle size, consider whether you will be carrying the weight on your own, or if you have the ability to spread the weight. If the latter is true, buy smaller canisters. They take less pumping (less work) and don't require one of your campmates, or yourself to be a packhorse.

        - The child resistant cap can be a huge pain. Don't over-tighten it, as it won't unscrew accidentally (due to it's child resistant cap), and can be quite difficult to torque for removal with the C-P cap. I had to insert my multi-tool pliers through the cap hook for torque while pressing down in order to remove the cap when I first learned this lesson. Save yourself the trouble ; don't over-tighten the CPC.

A friend gave me this simple rule to use when determining what size/hw many fuel canisters I needed. 10oz = 1hour of burn time. This isn't exactly accurate, but it's a good starting place.

Comments about MSR Fuel Bottle with CRP Cap - 20 fl. oz.:

I have the older version of this bottle that has a regular cap on it. This bottle has never leaked and can take a beating, it has the dents to prove it. Having 20oz of liquid fuel is plenty for my wife and I to spend a 2-3 days backcountry using it twice a day. The liquid fuel option is so much better to me because I can get that fuel at [...] or any outdoor store. And I keep a few gallons at the house anyway. Another advantage is the that you have pourable fire starter. I used some extra fuel to get some wood that had been rained on and then froze lit. It was very nice to get that going in that cold weather, it doesnt take much to get wood going, TRUST me. Great product and dont plan on buying another because this one will last forever.

Comments about MSR Fuel Bottle with CRP Cap - 20 fl. oz.:

My MSR fuel bottle has been toting fuel for my Coleman backpacker stove and mini lantern since 1992 and it still works great.

Let's face it–it's a bottle. There aren't any moving parts except a cap. What it is...functional. I've used this on almost every major Boy Scout excursion (where liquid fuels are permitted) and it still looks great. I bought a pour cap for it a few years back and still have the original cap, which seals perfectly.

If you are using small liquid fuel stoves or lanterns, this is a great add to your gear.

Comments about MSR Fuel Bottle with CRP Cap - 20 fl. oz.:

I have the old non-child resistant version of this bottle. It works wonderfully for me because I don't like children very much.

They aren't kidding when they say not to use this with alcohol. When I bought this I meant to use it for "white gas". Later I made a pop-can alcohol stove and began storing alcohol in the bottle. The cap did not hold up to alcohol very well. It's still functional but I would not recommend using it for alcohol!

This bottle is a bit heavy to use for backpacking, in my opinion. I now carry my alcohol fuel in a PET bottle (plastic pop bottle).

Now I use this bottle to carry 20 ounces of gasoline when I'm riding my motorized bicycle. It acts as a "reserve tank". It works great. This thing it TOUGH! I have no worries about it leaking or breaking when I crash my bike.

Comments about MSR Fuel Bottle with CRP Cap - 20 fl. oz.:

This bottle does exactly what it is designed for. The cap is not a problem as long as you don't over tighten it. If you accidentally over tightened it, then use a stick or something to twist it off.

Comments about MSR Fuel Bottle with CRP Cap - 20 fl. oz.:

I have the 20 and 30 oz. MSR fuel bottles. They are very durable and the child resistent fuel cap is a nice addition having younger kids.

I carry the small fuel bottle with me flying along with my MSR Whisperlite stove as part of my survival kit.

There are other bottles, all about equal in quality I assume but I'm an MSR fan!

Comments about MSR Fuel Bottle with CRP Cap - 20 fl. oz.:

Bought this for a gift to give to my husband. We do a lot of trail maintenance and need to carry fuel for our weed whacker. It came with a child resistant cap that is a real pain. You have to push it down and torque it really hard to get it off. Since our kids all all older and wise enough not to drink gasoline, I wish it had just come with a regular cap. We use a screwdriver through the loop to help torque it off. Other than the cap issue it's great.
