Comments about GT Force 3.0 Mountain Bike - 2009:
I'm a casual rider that rides hard when I get out there...I'm not riding 24 hour races or serious downhill stuff, but this kills on single track wether it's smooth or rocky with roots...took me about 10 minutes to get the suspension dialed in and from there it was smooth sailing! The components are not the greatest, but for the price, I'll upgrade as I break them...I don't know if I'd do any serious downhilling, and it may be a bit heavy for racing, but I don't think those were the intended uses...there's not much I don't attempt...Also, theres a lot going on in the pivot area(s) so we'll see how well everything holds up after a few good rides...

Comments about GT Force 3.0 Mountain Bike - 2009:
I was looking for the best full suspension bike I could get, for the least amount of money. Novel concept, eh? The Force 3.0 was a great choice. I'm a casual trail rider, and at 55 years young, I'm not going to be doing anything too crazy, but still enjoy some downhill fun after I've earned it on the uphill.
I'm also 6'5"/245 lbs, so was a little disappointed that even with an XL frame, the seat post missed the mark by about an inch. Seems like it would be an easy thing to do, to make sure anybody within reason that buys an XL frame wouldn't have to go out and buy something to make the bike fit properly.
Still, the bike rides well, and handles nicely. A friend that has a much more expensive competitor bike even gave it a thumbs up when he rode it.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was right on schedule, but had to go to Manhattan Beach from Anaheim to pick up the bike. There are closer stores, but not all REI stores are GT authorized. Only 30 miles or so, but still.....
Bob in the bike shop tried real hard to fit the bike, but the seat post just didn't cut it. The set up he put on the suspension/shocks was right on.
