    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Traverse Junior Trekking Poles - Pair:

We hiked the Olypmic coast, 74 miles of wilderness and rock where we didn't see any people for days. Had we not had these, we would certainly have fallen in the tidal pools as we traversed and tried beating the tide. For our next trek, we will upgrade to shock absorbing and not the junior version but these poles sustained harsh conditions and although I feel on my pole and slightly bent it, they still held up. Great buy and if you're not willing to initially put a heavy investment and just check out if the poles will be helpful for your hikes, try these first.

Comments about REI Traverse Junior Trekking Poles - Pair:

My petite (5' and 104 pounds) "avid adventurer" teen daughter took these on an 11-day backpacking trip to the High Sierra and found them extremely helpful for her overloaded knees (starting pack weight close to 40 pounds). The straps could use improvement--they should be wider and padded to protect the hands. She had trouble with the poles collapsing frequently; but it seems she was too dirty, sweaty, and covered with sunscreen to tighten them enough, especially with frequent re-adjustments needed on changing terrain. I imagine this problem would be common for children and smaller teens with lower grip strength. I will try adding some type of grip to the outer pole, but I don't see a solution to improving the grip on the inner pole. Perhaps some fingerless gloves would correct all ills.

Comments about REI Traverse Junior Trekking Poles - Pair:

I am a 5'2 120 lb woman and thought these junior poles would be sufficient for day hikes. My first trip using them, one stopped locking just 3 miles in. Maybe I just got a bad pole, but I will never again pay so little for trekking poles.
